Found a new Open Mic in Santa Monica tonight and had such an amazing time... unfortunately my left cheek is SOOO swollen (way more than I realized) due to a “not so good” tooth and wowww I look like a GOEFER! Or a squirrel storing up for winter….. lol 😂 🤷 unbelievable but Regardless these Poems GOTTA get read rain or shine so heres Chasing the Sun cause I havent read it in a while.

I was not happy with my brain today, it just felt like nothing clicked. But im learning what it looks like to show up for the parts of my life that are important and right now my poetry has meant the most. I personally think the truth is the most valuable thing we all have. if it ain’t honest I dont want it. theres a lot of power in that.. Also shoutout to Acting teaching me the art of the edit haha. Man Shoutout to @kyroslounge137 @onyeibekwe you guys really set up such a great space for Artists to come and shine. From the flyers created for each Artist performing, to the stage, to even go as far as interviewing you after your performance. Cannot thank yall enough. The amount of great music, poetry and comedy that was in that space tonight too was unreal. I read 2 poems but heres some of Poison for Cheap

This was such a random and special opportunity a while back that I really just haven’t shared much from but I showed up to a random open mic and it happened to be at the @hangontothedream and I met the owner who was just nice enough to decide to bring some attention to poets in the Hollywood area and put us on RokuTV and Youtube and have a whole set up for us.
Wild. here’s a couple clips from Chasing the Sun, which I was really relating to this day lol

Tonight was really special… My mom was able to watch me perform my poetry live for the first time.. my mom has watched me live a lot of different lives but has always seen me at my core no matter what I was doing. From being handcuffed and investigated by police at 17 to visiting me in drug programs or psych wards. Shes always seen me, believed in me and loved Me. I will forever be grateful. This is the life I had dreamed of as a kid but I didnt know how to access. Im seeing now looking back all the seeds planted and the journey that ive been on since 2015 has all been leading to where I am now. My Art is tangible now and im claiming my place in it. Performing and creating Art that MEANS something to me is my new favorite thing to do. Heres 2 of my shorter poems,

The Art of being New
Im going through all of my open mic performances in the last 6 months and wanted to share this moment again. Im in the headspace of Pushing my Poetry through social media however I can. The greatest gift you could ever give me is to take a moment and listen and to share it and interact with my videos with a comment and a like. Pursuing Art in the ways im inspired to has taken the center stage in my lite and im so thankful for how tangible it has become so im giving it all of my effort right now. Big things are coming and im excited.
