After many months of preparation and inspiration, we start rehearsal tomorrow for Kalamazoo at @capemaystage! I've had the honor of designing AND directing this show starring Roy Steinberg and Marlena Lustik. This heart warming comedy about second chances, unexpected connection and the courage to spread your wings at any age. Tonight I was a reminded of why I chose the path I have in this life. My love affair and devotion to Theatre has seen many ups and downs many shows have opened and closed over my 25+ year career. Tonight I laughed, I cried and I felt a profound connection to the material and the artist telling this story.
I am so grateful my wife was found this play and theatre, she never ceases to be my biggest supporter and source of inspiration. She knows how to refill my cup over and over again and I am truly Blessed.

This story of 2 deaf roommates was told in such a fresh and creative style, blending projections, translations and signing in an incredibly unique fashion. The entire design and creative team transformed storytelling in a way I hadn't seen before. Breaking the fourth wall and inviting us the audience into their world was done so tastefully. Deaf and hearing audience members were taken on a journey and we participated in a way that was simple and carefully crafted, we were reminded we were in the audience over an over again but the story never slowed. We were at times an extension of the actors minds and voices and I was so blown away. Merrill and I locked eyes at one moment and my soul was exposed in a way I had never experienced before. The creators of Trash have inspired me and given me the push I needed to continue to develop my own passion project and return to telling stories that are impactful and are transformative.

See this show be for it closes this weekend.
