Sunday… wasnt front row at church but was in the best seat to see and enjoy all of Gods beauty for an other amazing @tomorrowsanglersfishquest event!

Was fortunate to have two young men that were eager to learn and put gravel lizards in the boat as much as me! They were able to land not only their PB walleyes which to see the excitement when the 19” hit the deck is an experience that words can’t describe! @walleyexlureco baits performed again, with xshad 7s and predator 6s bringing the toothy gold topside. @denalifishing trolling rods handled another day of fish after fish from walleyes, a sauger to more sheephead than I want to talk about.

If you have a boat and can help catch a fish I highly recommend helping this great event out! This is the future of fishing and without them it could be something that is lost forever. You don’t get smiles and thrills like these everyday!

UPS y’all have really outdone yourselves with this. First the package was delayed and I can see why. Yall tried to wrap in in a little packing tape to hold it together. Well inside were two snapped rods can’t tape that together. by @joshiserloth

Sunday capped off the Winnebago Walleye Series with the championship with @iserlothdaniel.

Boated 28 eyes, and lost another 4 or 5. This was a different area than where I worked Saturday and the WalleyeX Xshad 7s performed again along with the Predator 6s down deep in the mud. We pulled a 22, 20.5, 19 and 18 for our four fish limit, along with several 17s, 16s and 15s. @rbboda custom painted baits again were the ticket with purples being the go to. Of course ol lady Bago couldn’t let a good day be and had to turn up hard in the last hour and half.

Top 10 finish and cashing a check on the biggest event of the series is a great way to end the tourney season!

Saturday had the chance to compete in the Greenville invitational again, pulling WalleyeX Xshad 7s out in the mud was our ticket. We ended up with a good limit of fish from 17.5” to 22.5” which put us in a 3 way tie for big fish at 4.6 lbs.

Came up just shy of the cash by .03 lbs out of 3rd place. Still a great day on Bago and nice little piece of hardware came home.

Taking a minute to reflect back on the past 5 days…..
#Another year another Merc Nationals in the books. Looking at the leaderboard most would say you didn’t cash a check or didn’t win but I’d say I won, prefishing started off Wednesday and was able to take my friends son out for a walleye adventure, we boated a good amount of fish and he had some stories (including me burying a hook up to the bend in my thumb) to filets for the family.

Day 2 and 3 of prefishing were exploratory and tried an area I haven’t fished. We found some good sized fish and just looking at winds tried to figure out how we were actually going to get up to them without ripping apart the entire boat.

Day 1 take off was all the anticipation of a big basketball game before tip off, but as our day dragged on and the winds blew it was a grind and only managed to get a couple fish in the 19” range for 5lbs.

Day 2 may sound like a broken record but you guessed it was a grind cause the winds! After pulling cranks for a while out in deeper water managed to trick an 18” to bite while picking up to try a different area. For the rest of the day we pounded WalleyeX Predator 4s along the shallows and found a pocket of fish that produced at least one every pass, had a quad at one point and a double right after and just like that we had 4 fish in the box. Ground through short after short and lost a couple really good bites near the end of time to have to run back. Couldn’t manage to get that 5th fish and ended the day with 7lbs and some change.

Last we looked we finished in the 150s, booo right? Nah I think a handful of the pictures show what this is all about, the grind, the smiles, the wth’s, and Mother Nature in all her fury or beauty.

Already looking forward to another event next year!! Thank you to my co @izzyjonrn for another great year and being able to enjoy the chaos of mercs week!

Busy couple days this past weekend! Of course it was on the water who would have guessed 🤷🏾‍♂️

Managed to get the ol gravel lizards snappin on Saturday for some good eating filets. Watch David and Uncle Bill put on a rod in hand clinic with some usual bago bad boaters trying to move in.

Then Sunday the 2nd WWS series event, well it was the Hyde to Saturdays Jekyll! It was like forest gump in the rain… we had stinging rain, big ol rain, rain that came up from the bottom. But even with an east wind and the storms we scratch out our limit to bring in 7.23lbs which got 28th and our best finish of this season. Even with the terrible conditions we boated 32 walleyes and lost 4 or 5 more at the back of the boat (we won’t talk about that it was me lol). Couldn’t get a lot of pics due to the poor weather unfortunately. May take all week to dry everything out! 😂

2 days 41 total walleyes boated on ol lady bago, never a bad weekend doing that out there.
