BACKYARD BBQ (TODAY):
Tune in from 4-5pm to hear a live performance from fingerstyle guitarist Josh Kimbrough. We’ll chat with Josh afterwards about his upcoming show on 10/6 at The Fuzzy Needle with Libby Rodenbough (member of Sluice, Weirs, Fust, Mipso) and Paul Spring (of Holy Hive).

Josh released his debut, Slither, Soar & Disappear, in 2020 on Tompkins Square Records (LP issued by Worried Songs), earning praise from MOJO Magazine, Aquarium Drunkard, and UNCUT Magazine, among others. Since then, he’s collaborated with Australian composer Andrew Tuttle on the track Correlation and contributed to New Commute’s “New Commute Forever” compilation. And a new record is in the works. Josh’s playing brings to mind a host of artists: Jansch, Drake and Fahey, to the Penguin Café Orchestra and Mike Hurley.

Tune in on your radio 89.3 FM, or at wxyc.org, or with the wxyc app! 📻 by @joshkbrough

☩ save the date ☩

Hope you will join us for this very special show!

Paul Spring grew up in Minnesota and now lives in NY. You may know him as the lead singer and guitarist of Holy Hive (Big Crown Records). He’ll be touring through town celebrating the release of his brilliant and mesmerizing new album ‘Barnstorm’. Barnstorm was recorded in Ireland with a cast of musicians he met while touring his previous record. It’s an album-of-the-year candidate.

Libby’s vocal & fiddle stylings are key components in the magical, tuneful tapestries of Mipso, Fust, and Sluice. It’s a big treat to have Libby visiting from western NC to play a rare solo show.

Josh will be backed up by TJ Maiani, Matt Booth, and Butler Knowles. They’ll play interpretations of songs from Josh’s Tompkins Square debut. Along with selections from an upcoming record.

Hope to see you! by @joshkbrough

🌴 World of Coffee rewind 🌴

So wonderful to see coffee friends near and far! Thankful for team GH and all our partners. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the GH booth to say hi. Unreal that Bob Taylor from Taylor guitars stopped by while Miranda Haney aka Barista Friend was playing a set in our booth on a Taylor guitar!

My one regret: not participating in karaoke on Sunday night. Who’s in for karaoke next year? taken in San Diego by @joshkbrough

Thanks a ton to everyone who came out to Fuzzy Needle and Evening Muse! It was a dream getting to play with Luke Schneider two nights in a row!

Sharing a tender moment in a room with old friends and new friends and family is a meaningful and refreshing thing. 🙏

Endless thanks to my bandmates @butler_bass @tjmaiani & @matt_boothdreaux for being a joy to play with.

Thanks to @thebandwoody for joining us in Charlotte. Keep an eye out for their new music. And go listen to their album Bull Fightin’ Betty.

Luke is coming back this way for Phuzz Phest in April. Go grab your Phuzz tickets if you haven’t yet.

♥️♥️♥️
