Second half of the 73 mile loop, Issac lake (which is 23 miles long) flows into Issac river which eventually meets the Caribou river which is glacially fed, so the water gets silty. Every day the feel changes, and the back half has rivers, warmer lakes and the massive Caribou falls. Got mobbed by a pack of river otters, only managed to film the back half after they finished trying to scare us off. 🤣 Mosquitos on the last night were pretty "impressive " to say the least! by @joshlaw

A few more from the first half of the trip. Can you spot the bald eagle in the first pic? We had almost zero wind the days we were on the water. It was almost hypnotic being able to look at the mountains by looking at the water. by @joshlaw

Just got back from another lap around Bowron Provincial Park in BC. Here's some pics from the first few days of the circuit. Had a weather delay day (even after the hailstorm) but luckily we had our own private site complete w/cabin and wood burning stove. Love this place. 🇨🇦😍 by @joshlaw

Spent another week at another remote mountain hut in BC. So nice to unplug from the world for 7 days. After all the rain the week before conditions were better than expected. Climb, shred, eat, sleep, repeat. Made a bunch of new friends who I hope I'll see again someday! by @joshlaw

The rain followed me from Hawaii to 🇨🇦 this year. Not the best week of riding but I'm always happy to be back in such a beautiful place. by @joshlaw

Couple snaps from 🇯🇵 this year. Conditions were horrible right up until the day I arrived and I almost bailed, but so glad I didn't. 9/10 days riding were deep pow and it was great to explore and entirely new part of the country. The locals around here did not speak any English, but were still warm and friendly with close to no tourists anywhere but a few at some of the resorts. From being flexible with the itinerary to chase snow, the insanely cheap empty resorts, the excellent food, outdoor onsens saunas + ice baths in blizzards, to driving some of the snowiest roads I've ever seen, to hiking up the mountain one day w/friends when the lifts lost power, it was an awesome trip. 😁 Hard to take a lot of pics when it's always snowing so hard! by @joshlaw

When I was 19 I messed up my lowest 3 lumbar discs in a skiing accident. The doc then said that I'd be dealing w/issues most likely for the rest of my life. He wasn't wrong. Here we go again 🔪🤬🤮😢 by @joshlaw

We saw a nice weather window and decided to do some of the Roteburn Track since we were in the area. Almost impossible to book spots in the high season, it was dead quiet in the winter and we were mostly alone. A nice stove and plenty of coal in the hut kept things relatively comfy and the sunrise hike into the alpine was a nice bonus. The meticulous upkeep and care given to shared outdoor spaces in NZ is just on a whole different level than anywhere else I've been. 😍 by @joshlaw

West Coast of the South Island. Pretty much the full north to south traverse. Lucked out mostly with the weather after getting stuck in Nelson for a few days due to the floods and closed roads. Sunny Nelson my 🍑! 🤣 by @joshlaw
