This past weekend I ran the California international marathon, I fell very short of my goals and by the end one thing I had in my head was to just get to the finish line. I was on 2:27 pace for a long time and I got to mile 19 the wheels came off and by mile 22 I know I couldn’t get it back.

I ran 2:37 for my first marathon. Some of you might know that a personal goal of mine is to qualify for the marathon Olympic trials in 2028 and with this race it left many questions in my head of if I should continue to try. I have two years to drop 21 minutes. Is it possible? Yes, other people have done it.

I want to try, I want to see what I can do. This race showed me a lot and I think I needed this to see where I was and reflect on training and what worked and what didn’t.

I want to thank my wife @jordanharrellramirez for being such a supportive partner that allows me to train.

My coach @goodeathletics for helping me figure everything out, in the crazy noise that is my mind he helped direct things into a readable format to even get to the starting line.

@thejoshharrell for traveling with us to the race and just being supportive.

Two years to run 2:15:59.

GPA: 4.0

The work that went into this cannot be understated, I want to thank my wife @jordanbrookeramirez for not only encouraging me when classes got difficult but also congratulating her on the completion of her own graduate program.

I want to thank everyone who helped along the way of this graduate degree.
