Our team traveled to Nepal to explore the region that sees less than 15 Westerners a year, here we were following the Lord pushing through obstacles, small and large to arrive at a community and a region that is in so much need of love and care. Over the course of the week our team taught people why to shower, how to wash their hands, how to care for wounds. How to ask for help.

How can we spread the gospel in a short-term way? I asked.

It is this dichotomy that we stood here in Nepal.

We are on this earth to spread the name of Jesus to every nook and cranny, while also, we are asking people to leave all they know: from their culture to their community. We are asking them to be the first to follow what no one follows

How do we do this?

The answer is not we but it is Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit! And that is incredible. Nothing on our own accord will be done. But through the father in heaven.

Through mountains and valleys, snow-covered hills and rivers, our team participated with the Holy Spirit, showing people through mercy the tangible love of Christ and making relationships that will last a lifetime!

When I dream I think of travel with you, when I laugh I want to show you. When I see something beautiful, I see you in it. I buy flowers now, I run out for sunsets now. I shop at Trader Joe’s now. I crave sweet treats. I like to snuggle. 🩷

CCU SWIM TEAM 2025 Recap

The year CCU gained a swim team and they didn’t even know it. The year grit was measured in yards, victories in attendance, and pride in teammates who never stopped showing up. Joshswim, maxswim, Ashtonswim, kadeswim, ellaswim, Lizswim, Kianaswim, and Evelynswim all had one goal in mind: to survive the 6am alarms and to out swim yesterday’s version of ourselves.
We started off strong with our inaugural swim practice— an open water swim in the bear creek reservoir. Little did we know how much potential this group of athletes had. Skill levels varied from true race-pace warriors to those who simply enjoy floating or wading (IYKYK) but the dedication remained unmatched. We didn’t stop at swimming either. We tackled FB Marketplace pickups like a professional resale team, shared family dinners like we were carb-loading for the Olympics, and pulled off the most legendary surprise swim team sleepover ever. We even took our commitment beyond the pool, supporting teammates at their triathlon. We also can’t forget the sacred landmark that has become the heart of our operation: the bench outside of Anschutz: dedicated to us, by us, for reasons no one else understands but everyone now respects. If at any point you witness a flock of students sprinting toward it with goggles in hand and panic in their eyes, please step aside immediately. They are not running at you, they are running for their lives to avoid dryland training. We do not tolerate tardiness on this team. Today, we closed out the year with a 2,000 yard PR swim. It was incredibly memorable. It took some longer than others, but we all finished nonetheless and I couldn’t be prouder of these teammates and how hard they worked this year.
