The Road to 4,000 Shoes: Josh’s Journey of Giving 👟❤️

As a freshman, Josh set a bold goal—to donate 2,025 pairs of shoes by graduation in 2025. Thanks to the incredible support of the Lake Highlands community, he surpassed that goal before the end of his junior year. Inspired, he raised the bar to 4,000.

On January 9, 2025, Josh delivered the final batch, bringing the total to 4,110 pairs of shoes donated to those in need across DFW through organizations like Trusted World, Genesis Women’s Shelter, and more.

Through this journey, Josh discovered a deeper passion—mental health. After witnessing its role in so many challenges people face, he’s now pursuing a future in psychology and medicine.

Josh’s story is a powerful reminder of how one idea, paired with a caring community, can spark lasting change. Thank you, Lake Highlands, for helping one student make a big difference. 💪🏽💙
