The morning after, De Beauvoir Town.

Tea Steeped Too Long. A shower held too hot. A reflection he won’t quite meet.

Look away with him.

He knows how the night should go. Same places, same people, same persona.

Still drinking, even from a cracked glass.

He knows how the night should go. The right bar, the right round, the right amount of everything. But the plan only holds as long as he’s the one making it.

Performance is a debut about friendship, addiction and the cost of never switching off.

He can’t walk into a room without knowing exactly what’s playing, what to wear, what to say. Reference is armour, until the moment he can’t place one, and something else fills the void instead.

Performance is a debut about friendship, desire and the cost of never switching off.

Chapter 1, out now.

Moments from Performance.

A man builds his identity from films, music, photographs and the mythology of the city around him. Every reference offers a way of understanding himself. Every memory feels borrowed from somewhere else.

But when meaning slips beyond recognition, he begins searching for it in darker places. Guided by friendship, intoxication and the promise of one more night, he drifts further from the stories that once sustained him.

Performance is a story of nostalgia, self-invention and the things we reach for when meaning slips away.

Coming soon. by @joshtej
