GSRX Q&A: Who was the first band GSR ever signed? 🎙️

@ourpastdays were the very first signing on the label, a decade ago but you won’t believe who else we almost signed 👀

10 years, hundreds of releases and one label that started with a single band taking a chance on us.

Three years ago I made the best decision of my life and got on a plane to come meet a girl who likes sad music and Heroes of Might & Magic 3. Now we’ve explored the world, started a label, become co-parents to my ginger step child, and built a life and a home together. We still haven’t played Heroes 3 together though… I love you @__noeyedeer , here’s to many more xo ❤️

Today is a really good day. Work has been a real challenge these last few months, navigating issues, managing changes, planning for how to move forward in a meaningful way and sometimes it’s been really hard to see the forest for the trees.

But today, three different releases from three different acts across three different projects I’ve helped build have released and it reminds me why I went down this path in the first place. I just want to help young bands grow, to help them build their own stages, to guide them through the harder parts of their journey. Days like this remind me of the path I am on, and it feels good.

Go listen to @divedowntheband, @melting.au, and @ibuiltthesky today. You’ll be doing yourself a big favour ❤️

Two weeks in a row, two very different but damn awesome guests. A huge thank you to @frankturner for sharing his time and his stories. This episode of SFL was so much fun to put together and getting to experience being a listener and discovering acts I'd never heard of was so much fun.

The stream is now live, click the link in the SFL bio to stream now, and then let me know, what tunes are you vibing this week?

365 days with our little family. It feels like not so long ago this was no more than an idea of how we could possibly support sad punks around Australia. A big thank you to @talkheavyband, @badneighb0ur, & @divedowntheband for believing in us. We're really excited to expand our family in 2026 ❤️. by @joshuaredbeard

Life of late. I barely use this anymore, at least to do anything beyond doomscroll. Life is good. Love is great. Work is wild. Brisbane is sweaty. Tayla is a sandwich artist. New Zealand is beautiful. Music is the lord and saviour. 1 litre coffees should be the standard. Tower defence games are my kryptonite. Dungeon Crawler Carl is actually brilliant. And I really need to use my camera more often.
