one of our fams most memorable moments was captured on video. And I love this quirky “we don’t care” moment our fam had.

We aren’t the “norm” and even possibly “cringe” or “uncool” but all I care is that my kids grow up knowing that we were grateful, loved hard, joyful and knew what we believed. That way they can come up with their own cringe :)

Costa Rica, you were something special…

This trip was so much more than a vacation. We immersed ourselves in nature, culture, food, and the stories of the people who call this beautiful place home. We learned how to make chocolate, earned about how locals came to settle this part of the country, tasted food that was unbelievably fresh and incredible, and spent so much time just taking in the beauty around us.

We hiked, explored beaches, got rained on a lot while checking out local little stores:) got a little sweaty and saw SO much wildlife along the way… monkeys, toucans, parrots, sloths, iguanas, tarantulas, crabs, and plenty of other little (and not-so-little) creatures.

honestly? Not every moment was picture-perfect. It rained, we stunk most of the time, traffic was cray cray (again amazing job @joshwillink ) and you had to be flexible… there were moments that looked nothing like the “perfect vacation” you see online. But that’s what made it so meaningful.
The best memories weren’t necessarily the perfect moments (which we had these too) they were the unexpected ones, the conversations, the laughter, definitely the learning, the beauty we stumbled upon, and getting to experience all of it with my family.

Feeling incredibly grateful for this adventure, for the memories, and for the people I got to share it with.

Pura vida, Costa Rica. You’ll stay with me.

40 pics for your 40th. I can’t believe it’s my favorite humans bday!

Being with you for over 24 yrs of your 40 yrs (and hangin’ with you most of these days) I have a lot to say but thought I’d share some of the unknowns to most…

You are absolutely no skills getting out of parking lots, but can lead us through any airport like a pro.

Your detailed stories… the kind where we need to block off 20 minutes because we already know there’s going to be the best story I’ve ever heard (even my though the girls need breakfast)

Your cooking skills, especially grilling and breakfast, are seriously unmatched.

Countless “curbside talks” with the girls, helping them work through fits at restaurants, You always make time for them.

Late-night shenanigans and late-night booking trips together that somehow turn into some of our best memories… like the one we’re currently on :)

You can sleep almost anywhere, at any time, in practically any position. It’s crazy and I’m jelly.

So good at seeing things in the wild like NO one I’ve ever seen. (Besides that rock/whale)

You are a one-of-a-kind Uncle and I love it.

Hanging lights! <- had no idea how much I needed this.

Dad jokes available at ANY time… whether anyone actually requested one or not.

You’re always willing to try new things, and you’re constantly showing the girls how to be brave, adventurous, confident, and willing to step outside their comfort zone.

And then there’s the way you love your girls.
You love them BIG. You show up for them, encourage them, make them laugh, listen to them, challenge them, protect them, and make sure they know just how loved they are. Watching you be you with them is one of my favorite things in the world. ❤️

thaaaan there’s me… I truly couldn’t do this life without you. I couldn’t imagine all the adventures, chaos, late nights, laughs, trips, stories, and everything in between without my person beside me.

You are my best friend, my favorite person to do absolutely nothing with and also be “too much” with. I’m so grateful to love you and be loved by you

“The Traveling Canvas” will always be more than just a painted van, it’s the story of art bringing community together…

We dreamed of turning our van into a piece of art, and Chris made that dream even better than we imagined. His talent and attention to every little detail through @htownink & @manosmurals is incredible.

Then Connor came alongside us and captured the whole story so effortlessly beautiful... our family, our love for travel and art, and Chris’s incredible work all intertwined in this epic film. @connor.dean.harrington , you brought it all to life!

It’s crazy cool how we are all neighbors… there’s something pretty special about local artists, friends, and a community coming together to create something that will travel far beyond our little corner of the world and hopefully bring joy to many!

Someone asked me what my favorite place I’ve ever visited was…
At first, I thought of the place where I felt the most comfortable.
Then, the place where I felt the warmest.
But then it hit me…
It was the place that terrified me the most.

Seeing these incredible masterpieces of nature changed me. It pushed me beyond my comfort zone and filled me with both bravery and jaw-dropping moments.

Sometimes, the places that challenge us the most are the ones that change us forever.
