This was my first real estate investment project undertaken as both the Architect and the Developer and one of my most rewarding projects to date. Lot's more of these projects coming soon.

I finished designing a really cool design competition recently (with my very talented team at HMA) for the adaptive re-use of one of China's largest old Steel Mills. It's an incredible 9,000,0000 SF building that we proposed turning into Shanghai's largest Cultural Center complete with Museum's, Performing Art's Centers, Schools, Convention Center, Hotels, Shopping Malls, Water Park, you name it we've got it in there. Adaptive Re-Use projects like this are an incredible way to save resources while creating really cool spaces that highlight a really interesting dichotomy of old vs. new, history vs. future. Fingers crossed that we win this one, it would be a lot of fun to see it built, take a look and let me know what you think!

New project alert! We just pulled the permits on this beautiful wine country estate project in Napa. Designed in collaboration with the talented Casey Hughes of Hughes Architecture, this project is set amongst 20 Acres of vineyards on a site that has commanding views and close proximity to the unparalleled Napa Valley. The home is designed along stunning view corridors and large sliding wall openings allow for luxurious indoor outdoor living. The project carefully considers sun position, creating a variety of sunny and shaded outdoor areas and is designed to capture the cool breezes. A carefully selected material palette speaks to craftsmanship and quality, and the house has every luxury you could dream to create a truly world class lifestyle in this wildly beautiful California wine region. Exiting to see this move one step closer to reality!

Was treated to one of the most magical weekends of my life last weekend at JOSIAHPALOOZA!!! where I was blessed to be able to celebrate my 50th Birthday with my beautiful community at our new space we’re building for ya’ll at @oakstoneyosemite. Just starting to be able to process the love that I felt from you all, who drove for hours so we could all celebrate together and enjoy each other’s company for an incredible weekend. The older I get in life, the more I realize it’s not the money or career or things, but the relationships and memories and experiences that we have together that truly count as success for me in life. I feel incredibly lucky and grateful to have such a loving and special group of friends and family in my life. I truly appreciate you all and I’m grateful for you. Had an amazing first night of STEEP!, Lexie’s incredible Immersive Tea Lounge that she created as part of SF Design Week and hosted at our beautiful sky palace. Lot’s to see, taste, smell and do from a scent installation to, custom made video art to crafted tea cocktails and lots of tantalizing artistic food sculptures. We’ve opened up a few more spots for Saturday nights sold out event, so shoot me a DM if you’d like to attend. Way to go @aidafoodarts !! taken in San Francisco, California by @josiahmaddock

Feeling refreshed, physically tired and sore, and very very inspired after an intense week of work with my amazing team @oakstoneyosemite. We had a big push to get our hotel rooms open and I’m happy to say not only did we do it, but our first weekend open is completely booked solid!!! We had over 40 reservations coming through in the first 24 hours, and are on track to far outpace our expectations for this part of the project. Phase 1 is on time and off to a good start, now our Phase 1 RV Camping and Campsites are next!!!

It’s fun to see a little corner of our project come to life, can wait to spend time with you here. (We also need more capital to keep these projects going at the speed we want, so shoot me a DM if you want to invest in a beautiful community and nature aligned project and come be a part of Oakstone!)

Huge thanks for all the hard work @samuelnorling @valen_bruce @malwina_norzik @thefastpelon Nova and I are having a blast working with you all!! taken in Yosemite National Park by @josiahmaddock

A quick epic trip to our home away from home, Mexico City. Discovered the Grutas Tolantongo Hot Springs this time with was truly epic. Natural Hot Springs, a warm river, a huge cave that you enter through a waterfall with a hot spring waterfall inside it and hot spring pools in the cave. Well worth a trip. Throw in a dance party in the courtyard of a beautiful historic hacienda and you’re all set. taken in Grutas Tolantongo, Hidalgo. by @josiahmaddock

Huge thanks to @tim_ensmann and @issacsilvermam for putting together this event at their epic spot.

I am so very excited to share with all of you the phase 2 renderings for the Oakstone bar & restaurant! When determining the ethos driving this design we doubled down on glam while embracing nature. We dreamt of a lush, rich palate rooted in a comfort & warmth totally unique to this location. We did this by celebrating the use of locally sourced wood throughout the design, letting the live edge & natural colors of cedar and oak be THE design statement, complimented by richly saturated colors and dramatically scenic wallpaper. This is all to remind you exactly where you are and why - you are on the cusp of a world renowned forest and mountain scape ⛰️ to enjoy with your closest friends, and to celebrated with the luxury of a craft cocktail 🥂and cold beer 🍻. You are at Oakstone Yosemite. 🤩

Thank you to an amazing design team @josiahmaddock and the hard work of our talented renderer Mariella Uchida! #Glamping
