🎞️Photo dump of #turbocob's summer season. Miss Muffet romping her way round the UK 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧 Definitely the trickiest and most frustrating equine of my bunch, but also the cutest ‼ 🥰 my wee Gem💎 (Thanks to all the training and support crew for putting up with us..🤭😉😘) #cobscan #cobspotlight #cobsofinstagram #cobscanjump #gypsycobs #cobsofinstagram❤️ #cobsofinsta @glasgowequinevets by @josiesmithmedia
🧡🐉 Nearly burst into tears going up the centre line in the first test. Janice’s eyes looked moist when I’d finished the second. (She claimed it was dust.) Really hoping we can build on the decent percentages from last night, this weekend. And then work on general strength and fitness over the winter. We’re both a bit wobbly still atm. Thank you SO much to everyone who helped us get back on track‼️🤞🏼✨ 📸 @jamieagnewphotography 🎀 @sophiebarrettxo 🚛 @sandy.reid.562 by @josiesmithmedia
Had a great time hosting 🎤 the Variety Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Ladies Lunch‼️ @varietygb The (volunteer) committee did such a fantastic job bringing it altogether, it was a really lovely afternoon. Comedy 🎭 from @aliparkcow 🐄 and the event took place @maisonbyglaschu *my cardigan is from a charity shop in Kilmacolm 💅 and I bought it because I thought it would make me look like Valerie Jones 🐭🎀 #IYKYK 📸 @chapelfarmgroup by @josiesmithmedia
📸 Miss Muffet 💎 and I @ the BRC Winter Show Jumping Qualifiers *sigh. Feeling a wee bit downcast, if I’m honest. Although I’m definitely getting fitter, I’m also painfully aware of just how rusty I am when it comes to jumping/competing. (Felt every inch - especially round the middle! - the middle-aged, nervy amateur..😐🫩🔫) Our rounds were okay, but I came away feeling like I hadn’t really done #TurboCob justice. Poles (because I wasn’t rhythmical and together enough) meant no rosettes for us, but it was genuinely great to be out competing again, even if my competitive confidence has some catching up to do..🙄🤦‍♀️ (*wails loudly) *TYSM 💕 to Wendy, Ailie and Evie for the lift, and for all their help on the day, and well done to everyone out representing KKRC‼️❤️ We continue. 💪🐴 💸 (Obviously, even though there were no prizes, I had to buy pics of my pony looking nice! 😌 Look at those knees 🥹) by @josiesmithmedia
📣 *sound the klaxon COULD 2027 BE YOUR YEAR?⁉️ The lights have barely dimmed (and we’ve just about recovered!) from our incredible 2026 ceremony… 🥂✨ but we’re already looking for the next generation of Scottish hair, beauty, and barbering talent ready to step into the spotlight. 🚨 Entries for the Scottish Hair & Beauty Awards 2027 open on the 15th of October‼️ Whether you’re a stylist ✂️, barber 💈, colourist 🎨, beauty therapist, nail or brow artist 💅, make-up artist 💄, aesthetic practitioner, salon owner, apprentice, or educator, SHABA is about recognising the creativity, expertise, passion, and hard work that make Scotland’s industry so special. And entering is about much more than taking home an award. Being part of SHABA can raise your profile, showcase your work to a wider audience, motivate your team and put your name - and your business - firmly in the spotlight. SHABA finalists also benefit from social media 📱 and wider media exposure throughout the awards journey. 📸 And remember, SHABA is a bona fide industry competition. These awards aren’t simply handed out. You have to enter, put your work forward, and be judged by respected industry experts, and leading names from across the hair, beauty and barbering world. ✂️💄💈 It’s that independent, professional judging process that makes becoming a SHABA finalist - and ultimately taking home an award - something genuinely worth celebrating. 🎉 2026 saw talent from right across Scotland competing across more than 30 categories - from apprentices and independent stylists, to leading salons, barbers, artists, and training academies. 🌟🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Think you’ve got what it takes? 👀 We want to hear from you. 🙌 📅 SHABA 2027 registration opens 15 October 2026. Get ready - to show Scotland what you can do. Your name could be the next one inside that SHABA envelope… 👀✉️🏆 #SHABA2027 #ScottishHairAndBeautyAwards #SHABA #ScottishHair #ScottishBeauty by @josiesmithmedia

We back‼️👊🏼🤠 SO GOOD to be out with Miss Muffet again, just down the road at Houston for the KKRC Combined Training ✅ Baby steps for Gem 💎 and I as we are bursting out of our girth and showjacket respectively..🫠🤦‍♀️ Dressage was accurate and rhythmical, but tbh the only moment of decent connection was the slightly downhill bit of the grass arena where Gem-a-lem’s considerable 🍑 seemed to catch up with her shoulders 🤔 Showjumping was fun though, and she was a good girl for a double clear. Intro 2️⃣🥉 | Prelim 3️⃣🥈| 75cm SJ 🥇| Combined Training overall 🥈 Was lovely to see everyone! 💞 TYSM to Auntie Linda & @emmafindlay95 for the lift and excellent company, @chapelfarmgroup for 📸 and the #chapelfarmponyclub for their excellent cheerleading and grooming services‼️🤗 *yes, Gem is wearing plaiting gems ✨💅 (Thanks to @sophiebarrettxo & #katiecurriecombing for Gem’s glow up.) by @josiesmithmedia
One of my favourite jobs of the year thus far‼️🎬💛 I headed down to #Hartpury last month for the @rdauk National Championships 2026 ➖ to co-host their daily, podcast-style livestream with @eorforddressage 🤠 Of course, like most people, I was aware of the exceptionally worthy work that the #RDA does. But I definitely wasn’t expecting to be quite as touched and affected 🥹 by the stories that the riders, their families and the RDA volunteers were good enough to share with us over the weekend. The regard, respect and love that the riders had for their horses was also really humbling, and was an excellent reminder that our horses should exist as more than just a vehicle for our ambitions. The horses themselves, and some of the jumping rounds and dressage tests I witnessed, were also of a way higher standard than I had imagined they would be. It’s honestly difficult to put the whole event into words, but the impact of its inclusivity and celebration on the competitors was just incredible to witness and to be a small part of. 💚 One thing that really stayed with me was the passion of the RDA volunteers. Every single one we spoke to was so enthusiastic about what they did and so keen to encourage more people to get involved. So, if your company offers charity or corporate volunteering days, I’d really encourage you to consider spending one with your local RDA group. And, if you’re fundraising, choosing a charity to support, or your business has charitable funds to donate, please consider the RDA. 🐴💚 *For those of us in and around Glasgow, remember we have the Glasgow RDA based in Maryhill, an amazing cause right on our doorstep‼️ 🎥 *You can still watch our 3 x daily livestreams from the Live Lounge on the @rdauk Facebook and YouTube 📺💚 (Thanks to @adamcromarty and all the production team, sorry for crying so much 🫠 😘) #RDANC26 #RDAUK #RDANationalChampionships by @josiesmithmedia

At the start of March I went into hospital for a routine procedure on an old knee injury. Was supposed to be off the horses for a fortnight. Managed to pick up an infection (maybe in hospital - who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️) and ended up in hospital for a few weeks, including a drug fuelled trip to ICU 😵‍💫. Cue a spring and summer of no riding, and lots of crutch 🩼 based activities 😒🫩 I’m still probably not quite passing a trot up yet, but I cannot tell you how great it feels to be back in the saddle, feeling somewhat ‘normal’ again 🤪💞 Thank you SO much to all my friends, family, and lovely neighbours for their support during the most painful and arduous of times. (You know who you are 😘) Didn’t feel like talking about it much while I was going through it all - but would like to advise, if in doubt, get your bloods checked and find out what your CRP level is‼️😬 The comeback is greater than the setback. GIDDY UP‼️✨🦏💎 📸 by @mrbannister @chapelfarmgroup by @josiesmithmedia
