Hi. I’m Josie.
I write contemporary romance with dual timelines, second chances, and feelings that refuse to stay buried.
This is my debut novel. I’m excited. I’m scared. I've waited my whole life to do this.
Welcome to the slow burn. 💜

Life is life-in right now and I can’t concentrate on editing or critiquing or writing, but I can at least read.

I finished this one in eight days and I have THOUGHTS. What about you?

@sweeterthanfictionbookshop is my favorite bookstore in Charleston, and I never walk away without a stack of books, stickers, and a big smile!

I began this book before Richie’s transplant and finished it in recovery, which felt exactly right given the plotting of this novel. I loved Katie and Tyler’s story in Tropesick by @laurenokieauthor . It was messy and complicated. The book touched on grief and life after loss, recovery, and loving someone through the worst times of their life, and leaning to love yourself. Be warned—there is a third act breakup and a third act twist you will not see coming, and the novel bordered on speculative. But I did love the novel, and am thinking about these characters after I’ve finished reading.

Finished “The Three Graces of Pearl Street” at 630am on a Thursday morning and it felt so right for this beautiful, quiet book about womanhood, family, and faith. Told from the points of view of Graziella (Nonna), Grace, and Ella, all at different stages of life but brought together when Ella makes a monumental discovery at her job. They band together as only a family can (even though they all find each other frustrating) and find out that all three of them have been keeping secrets from each other.

This is one of those books I wish I could read again for the first time. Thank you for a beautiful novel, @elizabethwellingtonrollins !

This book didn’t make me cry. It made me cheer! @authorjourdanawebber debut “Unconventionally Elle” had me rooting for the female lead, making her own way in the world. She also has a convincing red herring of a male lead I screamed at for half the book, waiting for who you KNOW is Elle’s true love.

This is the second book IN A ROW my dog had to climb into my lap because of the tears streaming down my face. @emma.c.brodie this fucking book destroyed me and I cannot thank you enough for writing it, and @sweeterthanfictionbookshop for recommending it!

If you want a sweeping romantic epic that’s also about fandom and art and loving someone with a chronic illness, “Into The Blue” is a must read. This is going on the saved shelf for sure.

Happy Bookstore Romance Day! I had a blast in Charleston with Richie @sweeterthanfictionbookshop picking up a book on my list (looking at you, @authorjourdanawebber) and a few more thanks to great recommendations from Callie! And you know, I had to get a couple new bookmarks!

You know those memes that talk about how you can’t wait to recommend a book that emotionally devastated you? How you also want your friends to be as emotionally devastated as you? FRIENDS, this is that book. I haven’t cried over a book in TEN YEARS but @annabelmonaghan had me sobbing so hard over this book that my dog decided that I needed to be emotionally supported and laid down beside me. “Dolly All The Time” had me shook and cooked. Please read it and join me in the emotional journey that is what I consider to be her best book yet. One million stars out of five.

I almost DNFed this book twice, but I knew I needed to trust Rainbow Rowell. She’s never steered me wrong, and I was so happy I stuck it out!
