Themed breakfasts, or “special brekkie,” is one of my favorite ways to start the day during the holiday season. It’s such an easy way to slow things down and set a special tone for the day. And it doesn’t hurt that my kids are 10x more likely to eat food that is shaped like non-food items.

Today marks a decade of sobriety for me! It has been an incredible journey full of joy, loss, and immense growth. If I could go back and speak with myself at 22, I’d tell her we made it. We achieved the long-term sobriety that seemed so out of reach at those early AA meetings. That we have a beautiful daughter and wonderful partner and are happier than we could have ever imagined. That one day at a time would become weeks, and months, and then years. I am so very proud of myself, and deeply appreciate those who have stayed with me, supported me, and loved me for who I am. by @josterdahl
