How I travel on a budget:
1. Typically I try to schedule my flights while students are still in school. Offseason plane tickets are usually up to 50% cheaper.

2. I book most of my attractions I want to visit ahead of time. You get to understand how much you are spending while also checking the websites for different promotion deals (be careful of scams site, I check reddit to verify the official websites)

3. This is probably the one people don’t know, hostels sometimes plan tours and organize events around the areas for much cheaper than sites like GetYourGuide does. Worth following up with different hostels to save potentially a couple hundred dollars.

4. Don’t overpack, traveling light gives you more mobility and less to worry about which typically also means less fees especially when traveling through multiple locations at once. Personally if my items don’t fit in a carry on bag, I know I’ve brought too much.

5. RIP my grammar, but flying out on Tuesdays or Thursdays is typically much cheaper. It is an option if you have extra PTO to burn.

I make a part 2 if this was helpful. Maybe one more geared towards those still in school as well. ✈️
