POSTS STORIES REELS

I am very excited to announce that Making Stories Issue 14 is out today! I had the absolute pleasure of contributing the Tentsmuir Cardigan (designed in @uistwool) to the issue.

Checkout your local yarn shop to get your hands on the latest (and sadly final) Making Stories issue. You can also checkout the Tentsmuir cardigan on Ravelry and also see the testers beautiful versions.

Our 3rd business birthday and preparing for @thescottishyarnfestival has got me feeling nostalgic, so here's another throwback to The Scottish Wool Producers Showcase a couple of years ago.

Both @journeythroughyarn and I are wearing her Irene Slipover design. Rebecca's is in our Tait DK, and mine is in Colquhoun. My sample won't be coming to the Festival because it's currently on loan to @manchesterwoolandyarn where you can also find our wool to make your own.

Tentsmuir Cardigan Pattern coming September 👀

The Tentsmuir Cardigan pattern was first released in the Making Stories Issue 14 back in June 2025, and I’m please to say that I’ll be releasing it as an individual pattern in just a few weeks on my Ravelry and Etsy.

This week brought the Black Isle Show — a real agricultural staple for this Scottish girl, and one of my favourite places to be surrounded by sheep, wool and all things countryside. 🐑🤍

I was very much in my element, especially getting to wear my latest make: a little wool mini skirt. It felt rather fitting for a day at the show… and I think the sheep approved! 🧶🐑

It was so lovely to watch The Sheep Show, learn more about the journey from sheep to wool, and see so many beautiful breeds up close.

There’s something so special about a Scottish summer show — muddy boots, woolly sheep, country air and a little bit of home. 🤍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We love a good vest for layering, especially when starting a long day on the train! Between jaunts to the buffet car, a quick nip out to the platform for a bit of fresh air, or wrapping yourself up on your seat to watch the landscape slip by, @journeythroughyarn's Flying Scotsman Vest is an excellent companion.

Named after Britain's most iconic locomotive, this vest is knit from the top down and features a combination of moss stitch, reminiscent of rural landscapes passing by the train window, and a central twisting cable echoing intersecting train tracks. A split hem and and deep ribbing around the crew neck provide some modern-classic details.

Rebecca designed her vest for our DK and Worsted weight yarns, so we've had samples whipped up in Appledore DK, Knit by Numbers DK and Yarnadelic Worsted. Kits for the Flying Scotsman Vest (including a few options in our upcoming new Appledore colours!) will hit the shop shelves on August 14 together with the preorders of The Annual (issue six). by @journeythroughyarn
