“Some fathers build foundations no crowd will ever see.” 😭

I read this today and immediately thought of my beloved husband. He is a wonderful man of God, husband to me, and amazing father to not only Uriah but our oldest Carlito, who is not even his blood BUT GOD 😭😭 - I can barely see writing this out because of the tears in my eyes (I’m trying here).

He is faith-FULL: a man who left everything behind in New Zealand 21 years ago to come to an unknown place to find me 10 years later with child in tow and make us his “home”.😭

He sacrificed his comfort. His preferences. His life for US. 😭🥹

A man who loves Jesus and who says yes to Him. Who obeys! 😭

Although he may never see this because he is not on social media much I want to honor him in hopes that someone will run into him one day in the streets and give him the biggest hug for being faithful to what Jesus has asked and invited him into: Kingdom family.

Paul has always given Jesus his “yes”. And in fatherhood, as he leads by example, I see the yeses daily.

So grateful to witness this man of mine! I know my own sweet dad in heaven would be so proud of the man taking good care of his little girl and grandchildren. 😭

Happy Father’s Day to this one of a kind man of mine, Paul Henry Eru. Love you babe!

10/10 worship concert! 🙌🏼 Well done, @hiforrest! We were able to show our sweet little boy a wonderful and FUN time worshipping the Lord together as a FAMILY.

There were so many FAMILIES! 😭

Many little children were being set on a firm foundation.

This moment wasn’t “everything,” but it was something he will remember for a long time to come.

It was so special. Many happy tears were definitely shed.

Money well spent! 😂🙌🏼❤️‍🔥 taken in All State Arena Rosemont by @journeywithritz

Caring for mommy these days is teaching me how grief + healing can live in the same place. 💜🌱

Some moments I feel the weight of expectant grief — mourning the changes, the roles that have shifted, the future we’re all facing with her.

Other moments I’m soaking in the present: her smile, funny moments, being a constant helping hand to get her through the day.

It’s messy, holy and beautiful at the same time. I’m learning to let the sadness come without judgment, while still choosing small joys and self-care in between (I’m not always successful with that last part).

If you’re walking this road with an aging parent too…you’re not alone. It’s hard work and it’s heart work. Give yourself grace and don’t be hard on yourself. One day, one breath, one photo/video at a time. Sneak those laughs in there! 🥹

Sending hugs to every caregiver holding both grief and gratitude right now.

I shed some tears putting this one together. Love her so much. 😭❤️ taken in Chicago, Illinois by @journeywithritz

@gracelaced New Bible! The way to my heart. ❤️‍🔥
.
Least we take these holy words for granted. Bury them in my heart and mind, Lord, and keep this light burning within me. 😭
.
A quick story I want to share that I remembered today as I received my “treasure”:

In 1866, Welsh missionary Robert Jermain Thomas sailed into forbidden Korea — the “Hermit Kingdom” that wanted nothing to do with outsiders or Christianity.

When the American ship General Sherman was attacked and set on fire, Thomas didn’t save himself. He opened crates of Bibles and began throwing them toward the riverbank, shouting “Jesus! Jesus!” 😭

🔥 He threw Bibles like treasures as the ship burned around him.

Even as flames engulfed the ship, he jumped overboard with more Scriptures in his arms. On the shore, he offered his final Bible to the soldier who would kill him.

One man’s “treasures” thrown into the water that day helped spark a flame that still burns strong in South Korea today — now one of the most Christian nations in Asia.

A powerful reminder: Sometimes the greatest impact comes when we let go and trust God with the seeds - His word!

What legacy are we leaving, mom’s? Keep sowing and watering. He is forever faithful.✨ by @journeywithritz

23 years as a mom to Carlito. 💙
6 years as a mom to Uriah. 💙
.
This sums it up perfectly:
“A mother’s love doesn’t just nurture what is seen. It wars for what cannot be.

She prays when no one is watching.

She believes when there is no evidence.

She stands in the gap when her children cannot stand for themselves.

There are mothers who have cried silent tears, fought unseen battles, and carried faith when fear would have been easier.

God sees every prayer whispered over your children. Every moment you chose faith over fear. Every time you stood when you felt like collapsing.

You are not just raising children. You are shaping destinies.”

Happy Mother’s Day!
