I went to Advertising Week NYC as a creator and founder, and I came home with a LOT of notes. 🗽

This year, I decided to prioritize business conferences because I wanted to understand two things:

1. What do brands actually look for when working with creators?

2. How are businesses using AI to create real results?

I learned most of these from @metaforbusiness panels. Some of the conversations challenged how I think about content, partnerships, and building a business.

From how brands choose creators to how AI could change the way customers find your business, I pulled together some of the biggest gems and added ways you can apply them.

Because collecting information is one thing. Knowing what to DO with it is another.

Swipe through and steal a few notes. 📝

This conference confirmed my prediction that AI assistants will change how customers discover small businesses. The shift is now “how will my clients find me in AI search?” by @jovitalkstech

Real me vs. AI me. Same video, two very different days.

Creating from scratch looks like:
setting up the lighting,
finding the right angle,
flubbing the same line six times,
and I haven’t even opened my editing app yet.
Some days that’s three hours for one video. And on the days I don’t have three hours, I don’t post at all.

I tried VEED’s new feature. All I need is one selfie, a voice clone, and my script; it built a video that looks and sounds like me while I got my laundry done, made some tea, and went for a walk.

She’s not me, but she’s close. If you’re trying to stay consistent with your content, this is worth a try.

One thing this year is teaching me: document your wins while you’re living them.

A friend was showing me how she keeps track of her goals, wins, and lessons, and I realized how little I could remember from my own year. The losses came to mind immediately. The wins took some digging.

And I wonder how many of us get to Q4 feeling behind because we’ve forgotten so much of what we’ve done.

It’s easy to reach a goal and immediately start thinking about the next one. Or get through something hard and brush it off because you think you should’ve handled it better.

I’m learning to give those moments more attention. Write them down. Celebrate them, even if there’s still more I want to do.

Before you judge your whole year by what’s unfinished, take a little time to remember what you’ve already done. You deserve to count that, too. 🤎 by @jovitalkstech

I have a pattern of going ghost right after a video pops off. I think a lot of creators secretly know this cycle: the video hits, the pressure to keep up with content and consistency spikes, and burnout quietly wins.

It’s not that I don’t want to keep showing up for my audience, I sometimes get overwhelmed. The algorithm rewards you for posting more right when you have the least capacity to actually do it, and nobody prepares you for that kind of pressure. So instead of riding the wave, I freeze. Two weeks go by, sometimes longer. And the same people who just found me are left wondering if I disappeared for good.

I’m testing something different. VEED’s new AI video feature clones how I look and sound, so I can keep showing up even on the weeks my capacity runs out. A clone won’t replace me. My hope is that it helps me actually stay consistent instead of disappearing.

When we move in silence, we’re telling ourselves that we won’t succeed.

Her Caribbean mom’s rule: If you fail, fail privately.

Not televised. Not discussed. Not witnessed.

There’s some wisdom in that.

When @jovitalkstech did a career pivot into tech during the pandemic, she told everyone she was going to school for an English degree.

And, she learned the price of silence…

It blocks community.
It blocks resources.
It blocks our ability to inspire others.
It blocks our ability to truly bet on ourselves.

Privacy ≠ Isolation.

One is a boundary. One is a cage.

What did ‘fail in private’ steal from you?

This is the unsexy side of my “first‑gen millionaire with AI” experiment.

Before I try to entertain 50 different ideas, I want to see if one AI‑supported digital product can make my first $1,000.

I’m not reinventing myself or learning a whole new industry from scratch.

I’m taking the skills I already have, packaging them into something useful, and letting AI handle as much of the heavy lifting as possible.

Here are the rules I’m following on this journey:

1. Leverage my current skills – I’m building from what I already know, not starting from zero.

2. Money over vanity – If it doesn’t help me make or test for actual revenue, it’s not a priority.

3. AI has to carry weight – It needs to make me faster, remove friction, or take a task off my plate.

If you’re also the “first” in your family figuring out AI, money, business, and self‑belief at the same time, you’re in the right place, follow for more.

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t “using AI”, It’s deciding where to even start.

Especially if you’re first‑gen and no one around you is doing this yet.

You know you don’t want to miss the wave, but you also don’t want to waste time on the wrong thing.

This is part of the First Generation Millionaire series where I use AI to build wealth I’ve never seen before.

Here’s my plan to hit my first $1K with AI.

Because the way you think about your first $1K is different from how you think about $10K… and definitely different from $100K.

Right now, we’re just focused on proving “this can work for me” in the simplest way possible.

In this carousel, I’m breaking down 3 beginner‑friendly ways to start making money with AI when you feel overwhelmed by options:

* Offering a done‑for‑you service (you use AI behind the scenes to work faster and deliver more).
* Creating a simple digital product (guide, template, prompts—nothing fancy, just helpful).
* Doing 1:1 sessions (you sit with someone and help them use AI for something specific).

There are so many other ways to make money with AI…
but you don’t need a master list of 50 ideas to move.

You just need one clear lane, one small goal, and a plan you’re willing to actually test.

I’m using this exact game plan to try to make my first $1K with AI, in real time.

If you’ve been stuck at “I know AI is powerful, but I have no idea what my first step should be,”
scroll through, pick the lane that feels most doable, and save this so you can come back to the plan when you’re ready to make your first $1K too. by @jovitalkstech

I decided I’m going to be the first millionaire in my family and I’m using AI to do it.
Not in a “quit my job, made 100K in 3 days” way. In a “use the skills I already have, build real income streams, and scale them with AI” way.
Here are my rules for this series:
1. Use what I already have – tech, teaching, storytelling. No starting from zero.
2. Track actions by the money they could make, not just the views they get.
3. AI has to remove friction, increase speed, or carry a mental load. If it doesn’t do any of these, it’s a no.
I’m a first‑gen daughter of immigrants. My parents gave me a good life, but I want more for me, for them, and for my future family.
I’ve never seen this level of wealth up close, so I’m building it in public. You’ll see:
– What I’m trying
– What flops
– What finally pays
– And the mindset spiral in between
If you’re also the “first” in your family trying to figure out money, you’re not doing it alone.
Follow along and let’s do it together. by @jovitalkstech

Welcome to First Generation Millionaire.

I’m the daughter of two immigrant parents from Guyana 🇬🇾 and 🇨🇷 .
They worked incredibly hard to give me a good life, and I’ll always be grateful for that. But I knew I was built for great, not just good.

My expensive taste and I decided we just had to make more.

So here’s what we’re working with:
👩🏾‍💻an engineering background,
🤖 a Claude subscription,
✨ a lot of audacity.

No crazy resources or legacy connections. Just figuring it out in real time.

AI is lowering the barrier of entry for wealth, and I’m leveraging every single opportunity I can.

If you’ve ever felt like you were meant to change your family’s financial story, this is your sign to do it with me.

Hit follow, and let’s see if we can both become the first millionaires in our families. by @jovitalkstech

Companies are using AI to cut costs, so I’m using it to build leverage. Welcome to First Generation Millionaire. No gatekeeping or crazy resources. I’m documenting how I’m using engineering, audacity, and a @claudeai subscription to shift my family’s financial trajectory in real time. Let’s see what happens

Friendly Reminder: you don’t need to be a “tech girl” to use AI.

You just need to be the kind of woman who’s ready for more ease, more money, and more confidence going after the life she wants.

I’m here to make sure fear doesn’t get in the way of that.
I’ll help you use AI to support the version of you you’ve been trying to become. by @jovitalkstech
