My health issues have necessitated some creativity! My entire studio has been packed up for over a year and now that I have all my time to myself, I can finally start some projects. I can't access most of my studio things so I decided to create a mobile space to work with our small living area. I've already made a painting/design space in my bedroom for when I need to be in bed all day and that's been great! Creating a mobile jewelers bench that can accommodate me standing or sitting will be wonderful to work at and I am so happy about it! by @joy_full_creative

Oh the irony! I just received this award plaque in the mail. I wasn't able to attend the meeting where these were presented in person because I've been out on FMLA due to a health crash. My health crash was due to my work that's been terribly unsupported for 6 years by an agency that refuses to accommodate my disabilities in a meaningful manner. I'm the only statewide biologist in my program who has zero regional bios to support the massive workload. I've tried getting accommodations and accommodating myself, but it wasn't enough to prevent yet another big health crash. While out of work, I've worked with a disability specialist to develop reasonable accommodations that would allow me to return to work AND heal. All of the most important accommodations were rejected by HR. No iterative process as required by ADA, just a flat rejection that is being claimed as "undue hardship," when in reality are considered reasonable at many other employer my specialist has worked with. So I remain out of work without pay and soon to lose health coverage. I'm applying for short term disability and plan to then go on long term disability. I will continue my research as an independent researcher when the appropriate and legal time comes. I find it ironic that I'm one of 5 people being honored for our collective response for wildlife and habitat post the devastating hurricane helene, but not appreciated or considered valuable enough to reasonably accommodate. I don't understand the general lack of empathy and flexibility in this situation. Ableism is prevalent in the wildlife career field, even within public service spaces and that's what I chalk all this up to. I've been very vocal about with my employer about the myriad of disability issues that run throughout the organization. I'm excellent and an expert in what I do and this award signifies it, but yet I still must choose my wellbeing over the work, unfortunately. My healing is going to take a long time so I don't see myself being able go back to this work anytime soon. 🤷🏻‍♀️ #ableism by @joy_full_creative

It's nowhere near done yet, but as a tester it's coming along well. I need to figure out how to scale up my alphabet from a photo to a printable file(s) so I can print them out - anyone know how to do that?. I'm terrible at freehand symmetry! Anyways, I created an alphabet (font) style based on my desired attributes 😁 by @joy_full_creative

To be a test pendant, in copper. 1.5x1.25 inches and the bail will make it a bit longer. I'd like to make a version in bronze too. I may offer these for custom order if I like how it comes out 😁 by @joy_full_creative

I picked out a cool yellow sphene to go in this copper pendant. It still needs a lot of work before setting can happen but I'm excited to be working in copper. I've never worked in copper before but so far I like it a lot. Either way gold being absolutely absurdly expensive now and silver also becoming more and more expensive, I'm exploring other metals to work with. I like the idea of adding gold accents to the copper, that could be interesting looking. I'm looking to start experimenting with bronze, steel and even iron for future work. #artlife by @joy_full_creative
