a crisp skinny-stemmed glass of🍷 domaine de quatre routes muscadet sevre et maine sur lie (loire valley, france) @vernickfish. perfect with their many oyster 🦪 offerings, soft saline and zippy acidity made this one an easy summer treat. i think muscadet is seriously so good and such good value too!

wine @ the world cup!! ⚽️🍇 i was lucky enough to be in a @fwc26philly @fifaworldcup @fifahospitality suite for the brazil vs haiti match tonight and had a crisp glass of @louisjadot mâcon-villages chardonnay (burgundy, france 2025). light golden – though you can't tell under the stadium lights! – unoaked and citrusy with the crisp freshness of green apple 🍏 this was a great sideline sipper especially with a little snack of popcorn for the game!!

took a brief break from wine adventures but WE ARE SO BACK!! lambrusco has been my drink of choice recently and i had this cutesy little canned lambrusco "frico" by @scarpettawine at @fiorellaphilly (my absolute favorite pasta spot in philly!!) on a recent hot summer day... so crisp, tart, and drinkable!

a crisp glass of @la_battagliola lambrusco (modena, italy) at @goodguysgoodguys last night, a lovely spot for some post dinner vibes and chatter! the lambrusco was just slightly effervescent, a little funky (you can really taste the fermentation sur lie) but the juicy red fruits and berries still shine through!

some absolutely delicious wines i had on my recent trip to paris... as the route des vins (wine pairing) to a delightful birthday dinner at @restaurant_virtus 🍽️ part 1!
•
🍷 the @louismicheletfils chablis 1er cru "montée de tonnerre" (bourgogne, france 2022) was absolutely ethereal, giving bright citrus, pear, and green apple with but also surprisingly floral. one of the best wines i've ever had -- so sophisticated and you get a surprising bit of nutty/spiced finish at the end.
🍷 the morgon @domainelapierre beaujolais (beaujolais, france 2022) was so silky and fruity. the only way to describe this really is "full of energy," lighter body but very grounded with a nice tart finish. it was surprisingly paired with fish -- a flame-seared red mullet in a mandarin-infused broth. super interesting flavor combinations... but it worked!

here's a classic... oysters 🦪 and muscadet 🍾...
this past weekend i visited my favorite oyster bar with the cutest interior and the most delicious lobster rolls, @pearlandmary_phl 🤩 i had to get a glass of the 🍷 @domainehenripoironetfils muscadet sèvre-et-maine (maisdon-sur-sèvre, loire, france) to go with our oyster platter! a light straw yellow, bright citrus, a hint of crisp green apple, and distinct minerality made this such a great pairing with pearl and mary's selection of oysters (especially the briny new jersey ones). muscadet is so underrated and it's one of my favorite summer wines, even to sip on its own sans oysters, generally reasonably priced with such a clean and refreshing palate!

first of the four @vernickwine september wine club bottles... the lovely, lightly fizzy 🍷 piria paltrinieri lambrusco di sorbara (sorbara, italy 2023) -- a super light red, almost rosé-esque in color, 70% lambrusco di sorbara and 30% lambrusco salamino blend. on the nose, it was giving raspberry and a hint of crisp apple; in the mouth, slightly sweet, strawberry and citrus, and a little herbaceous. overall so enjoyable, we had at a get-ready-and-yap session and it was definitely perfect for the occasion 💅

this one is a generous and delicious everyday wine! tasted it in @dibrunobros rittenhouse and knew i had to have it for my dinner party later that night! we served it with some confit duck 🦆 and it was the perfect pairing. now i'm drinking it at home 😋 this is the 🍷ercole barbera del monferrato (piemonte, italy 2022), by @thepiedmontguy, which is a light juicy red. lots of red fruits and plum, which is why we especially loved it with the duck. so yum!

forgot to post about this one from a while back, from another @vernickwine tasting. this is the 🍷 palacio de canedo mencia (bierzo, spain 2020). lots of red and black fruit ✨but add a bit of spice (think anise, cinnamon)✨ with medium body and tannins. honestly not really my thing but trying to be better about not always choosing white wines 😅

is two pet nats in two days crazy? this one is the 🍷 moussamoussettes pétillant naturel rosé (domaine mosse, loire, france), a blend of pineau d'aunis and grolleau noir. it was such a delight, dry but bright and bubbly with strawberry and peach flavors! thank you @vernickwine for the lovely tasting and conversation as always 💖

it's so fun when your friends say "we're going to dinner, it's byob, you pick the wine"! in this case we went to a cambodian restaurant for which i chose this bottle of 🍷 cuvée suzanne pet nat by @cellierlingotmartin (nonvintage, 100% gamay). the strawberry and watermelon flavors and bubbly yet creamy texture paired well with the bold spices and herbs of southeast asian cuisine as well as the shellfish and chicken, but if I had to pick again I'd go with something a little more crisp and acidic. this wine would be perfect for sipping in the afternoon as an aperatif, though, maybe with a summery snack -- so delicious!

friday post-work at your friendly local neighborhood wine bar @triaphilly 😗 always such good vibes here and the food is so good as well. today's wine of choice was this very lovely 🍷 riesling kabinett meddersheimer altenberg (hexamer, nahe, germany 2021) which was a sweet and very fruit forward riesling - 8.5% abv - but still crisp, light, and clean with the smallest hint of minerality. always in love with tria's wine list, which is so thoughtfully curated - i ended up taking home a bottle of a delicious orange wine from spain, review incoming. hoping to try more of tria's wine selections soon!
