This year I’ll pick up my social media presence. I realized I’ve done so much since being in new York and haven’t shared much of it. 2026 is the year of pride, stability, & as always - community.

Joy Raylon Hill (she/her) is an Alabama local that has fallen back in love with dance since joining Season 2 of DCL.
Joy started doing musical theatre/dance professionally the summer of 2021. Since moving to New York she’s danced with/trained at Dance Molinari and backup danced for rising pop group MuoDuo. She loves HipHop, Stepping (Sigma Gamma Rho Inc.), Jazz, and Contemporary. Her past dance credits that have excited her the most include: Velma in Chicago and being an Actor/ Dancer/ Combatant for 2 seasons of Unto These Hills.
“There is something beautiful in being able to train without the weight of immediate perfection. I didn’t know I needed that until I joined DCL. Dancing with these humans has been healing and reminded of the love and patience that comes with dance, which is easy to forget training in New York.”
She’s thankful to be able to dance with this group of talented Zebras and can’t wait for the next season!

Once again I am filled with GRATITUDE. Grateful to have been apart of the premiere of GUILTY the Musical by @meeles_yea through @ketema_productions. Thank you for allowing me to help tell this story through the eyes of Todd and Cleetus. Thank you to the cast and crew for being beams of light and excepting Z and I in the space on hard days. This music has become so special to me. Thanks to those who supported and I can’t wait to see where this show goes next!

I did a lot more than I thought in 2024. This year I’m going to take more time to capture moments with those closest to me.

2024 filled me with GRATITUDE. May Grace, love, support and community follow me and those around me into 2025.

We protected our peace now it’s time to cherish it.

Also Kirk Franklin was my #1 artist on wrapped and this tag cap of 20ppl is racist and homophobic.

LONG POST:

This birthday is truly special. I am BEYOND grateful to every person who’s ever shown me kindness. Being kind costs nothing and yet it means the world to me. I am constantly reminded that not everyone is blessed to have community or found family. The little girl who used to get bullied is shaking her ass right now because she’s finally got people who care lol. I thank God that I have been blessed to have never been alone since I’ve started this journey into adulthood. Even when I feel like it, I have truly never been alone. NOW THATS THE BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT IMAGINABLE.

I wish I could take a USB from my temple directly to the internet so everyone’s faces could be shown haha but unfortunately I cannot. If you’ve ever smiled at me, held the door open, let me sleep on your couch, or shown me love in any capacity, THANK YOU. To my friends, family, sorors, and sweet strangers, THANK YOU.

Life has been moving rapidly for me over the past 4yrs and I self isolate a lot which makes it hard to water these friendships but I MEAN IT WHEN I SAY I couldn’t have made it here without all of you. I learn so much from those who surround me. My cup overflows with community in AL, NC, & NY.

Love is the greatest tool in our arsenal 🖤
