Hello, my name is Joy Ramírez. I was born in Puerto Escondido.

Hand in hand with Save the Waves, and with the purpose of recognizing Zicatela as a World Surfing Reserve, we need to work together to make this a reality.

A group of expert marine biologists will be coming to Puerto Escondido from March 16 to March 22 to study our coastline. These studies cost 200,000 pesos. In addition, they will spend several days working hard on boats, which creates extra expenses such as fuel and their travel costs.

We have managed to raise a little more than half of the total so far. For this reason, all of us surfers and members of the community who love Puerto Escondido kindly ask for your support for this cause, so that together we can continue preserving the incredible waves we have at Zicatela Beach.
