I’m drawn to the simple beauty of the hundreds of fishing boats taking up residence in small harbors all over the island.

I try to explore the island a bit each day, as a break from boat projects and to get my exercise, from open water swims.

Muted Morning. Tonto National Forest.

One of the most favorite things to do is hike the wilderness of Arizona. This image was taken about 8 miles in on a beautiful and exposed off-road trail, en route to hike Rogers Trough, a 7 mile section of the Grand Enchantment Trail.
.
The trip in and the trail were epic...and so was Mother Nature.

Along for the trip was Ason, the Doodle and @ryanasonphoto.

Flashback to 2018, 6 am-ish on a beautiful May morning at the base of Superstition Mountains. .

The Minds Eye. Architecture and art throughout Millennium Park create boundless opportunities for individual interpretation. This theater, full of abstract lines, textures and lightplay kept us busy for quite some time. It was a very dreary day while we were here, so I took some artistic liberty with the edit of this iPhone photo. Enjoy!

Speaking of time,it's been awhile since I've taken time to get out and explore with camera in hand. So many great adventures taken but more often than not over the past year I've left my gear at home...it's been nice picking it up again, seeing the world with a renewed perspective. Field of Dreams. I’ve passed this field a dozen times this spring and summer but never when the sun was in the right place. While out exploring Monday night and with the new Canon EOS R in tow, I took a chance and swung though Byron and West along Beard Rd...arriving just in time to catch the sun starting it’s journey below the horizon.

While the sky was devoid of the usual color of summer, the warmth of the sun bathed the field in a gorgeous light, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. With no time to put a graduated ND on the camera, I was able to get off a handful of shots before the sun disappeared.
