The Jefferson Parish Democratic Executive Committee @jpdemocrats is proud to announce that tickets are now available for the 2026 Blue Horizon Awards, an evening dedicated to honoring extraordinary leadership, service, and commitment to our community.

This year, JPDEC will honor Robert “Tiger” Hammond with the prestigious Blue Horizon Award for his outstanding contributions and dedication to the community.

The evening will also feature keynote speakers Harry Dunn and Daniel Hodges, whose stories of courage, service, and commitment have inspired communities across the nation.

It is especially meaningful to me to have nominated @councilman.byronlee and Kiana Calloway for this year’s Community Service Awards. Recognizing people who pour into our communities and make a difference is exactly why events like the Blue Horizon Awards matter. I’m proud to see their service celebrated. 💙💛

If you’re tired of politics that talks at you instead of working for you, you’re not alone.
The 2026 legislative session reminded us what happens when one party holds overwhelming power. With Republican supermajorities controlling both chambers, too many priorities that matter to working families were left behind. Democratic efforts to expand access to healthcare, raise wages, strengthen public education, and lower everyday costs repeatedly ran into a legislative wall.
Jefferson Parish Democrats believe government should work for the people, not for political insiders.
From the School Board to the State Legislature, Congress, and the United States Senate, Democratic candidates are fighting for stronger public schools, affordable healthcare, better-paying jobs, responsible infrastructure investment, protection of Social Security and Medicare, honest government, and an economy that gives working families a fair shot.
