'Mrittikalaya' (Abode of Earth) (1) 2000-2008 drawings of a proposal for a building that maintains year round thermal comfort with nothing more complex than a hinge or a pulley. However like a yacht that is actively sailed through the winds and waves this building relies on sophisticated design of complex tunable structures that can optimize the movement of energy in and out of the building in response to the dynamic energy environment of sun, clouds, wind and rain and other fluid dynamic energy fluxes. by @jpf_designer_maker

(3) this building maintains thermal comfort year round in the extreme climate if the Thar Desert, India with nothing more technically complex than a hinge or pulley, and all built using recycled or natural materials form the locale. At least that was the goal - sadly the project never came to fruition after five years of work... This set includes details on one of the deployable roof systems that utilised nigh-time radiative cooling and inter-seasonal storage. by @jpf_designer_maker

'Eco-innovate' eco-design workshops run at various London schools 2004. The idea was for teams to compete to get the biggest temperature differences between two bottles of water over a week using biomimetic inventions built from random scrap and the natural forces of wind, rain and sun. by @jpf_designer_maker
