Happy International Yoga Day🌞

As a designer, I spend my days creating environments that support how people live.
Yoga has taught me to do the same within myself.

The practice isn’t about perfection, difficult poses, or how flexible you are. It’s about showing up, staying present, and returning to yourself again and again.

Today, on International Yoga Day, I’m grateful for this practice and everything it continues to teach me.

I know… I’ve been a little quiet around here.

Not because I stopped creating, but because I’ve been BUSY and doing what I love most.

Designing.

Over the past several months, I’ve been immersed in projects, collaborating with incredible people, solving problems, creating beautiful spaces, and spending my days doing work that continues to inspire and challenge me.

After 25 years in design, I’ve realized that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

Not every day is glamorous. Some days are exhausting. Some days I question my sanity. But everyday, I wake up with purpose, excited to create, excited to learn, and excited to see where this journey continues to take me.

My life is far from perfect, but design has always been the thread that keeps me grounded. It challenges me, fulfills me, and has shaped so much of who I am.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learned after all these years, it’s this:

If not now, when?

And now is the season to share🤲🏼

So here’s just a tiny little glimpse of what I’ve been up to…(at least at work, that is…)

Fifty. Refined. Grounded. Golden.

This journey has shaped me in ways I never expected. I’m grateful for the lessons, softened by the growth, and stepping into this next chapter with a heart wide open for what’s ahead.
Get ready for it🤍

An entryway should do more than lead you in, it should invite you to pause. . .
In this Downtown Miami condo transformation, we replaced a blank threshold with a space that feels intentional and designed.

A floating console offers function without heaviness, while warm indirect lighting and custom millwork set the tone for what’s ahead.

Quiet Feng Shui details were thoughtfully incorporated as well!
💫The mirror directly across from the front door placed not only to reflect light, but to deflect what doesn’t belong.
💫The emerald green rug, because using green in your entryway can help invite fresh energy into your home and enhance feelings of balance and tranquility.

“Design isn’t just visual. It’s energetic” ✨
-Janet

EUROLUCE 2025
Theme this year was “Innovation meets Emotion”. . .

Here are some of my fave moments from the lighting-focused exhibition at Salone del Mobile, where lighting designers from around the world came to show off what’s next in lighting. From sculptural pieces to textured layers, and soft ambient glows playing within all the color temperatures…each design proves that light really is Everything.
