Tre fantastiske cosplaydommere er ikke det eneste, du som deltager kan opleve på Comics Scenen til @bogforum, når vores to cosplaykonkurrencer finder sted – for selvfølgelig skal der være en til at styre showets gang! Og i år er vi så heldige at have ikke kun en, men to fabelagtige værter. 🩷

Så byd et stort velkommen til @theivanhoeshow og @ansotheanso! 😍 Om lørdagen til vores Ekspert-konkurrence er det Anso, der med eksplosiv glæde og sprudlende energi kommer til at introducere deltagerne, mens det er Ivan, der om søndagen med den skønneste varme og spot-on humor kommer til at introducere deltagerne i vores Novice-konkurrence. 🌸 Vi elsker, elsker, elsker at have dem som værter til vores events, og vi kan ikke vente på, at vi får lov til at opleve dem begge hen over en weekend. 🤩 Og selvom du nok også selv ved det, er de med til at sikre et fantastisk show både for deltagere og publikum!

Der er stadig plads i begge konkurrencer, og vi vil rigtig gerne se så mange som muligt på Comics-scenen begge dage, så vi rigtig kan fejre, hvor fantastisk cosplay er. 🩷

We know that you've waited with bated breath to find out how this year's BatteryBoy and WingGirl look – because we've been eager to share this year's design and are so happy that we can finally reveal it. 😍

So give a huge, warm welcome to BatteryBoy and WingGirl designed by @kraenny! 🌸

This year's design is inspired by J-fashion and its many subgenres, such as EGL and Visual Kei. So, there was no need to hold back on the lace, details, pearls, jewellery, layers, bows, opposites, and more, all while there's no doubt that it's our beloved, well-known BatteryBoy and WingGirl – and we think that @kraenny has captured it all perfectly. 😍

New mascots always mark that we are getting closer to the next J-Popcon and we cannot help but look even more forward to it, when we finally get to be inspired by the amazing work of this year's mascot artist. 🩷 We love highlighting the Artist Alley community and the many creative artists from Denmark and abroad, who get to add their flair to our beloved mascots year after year. 😍

So, we hope that you love this year's BatteryBoy and WingGirl just as much as we do and that you are looking even more forward to this year's J-Popcon now. 🌸

Nu er der snart ikke længe til, at @bogforum finder sted, og derfor er det på rette tid at løfte sløret for vores tre fantastiske dommere til årets to cosplaykonkurrencer! 🤩

Så byd varmt velkommen til @sugacaptcha, @miraziecosplay og @itsdreamingbirdie!

Disse tre helt igennem fantastiske cosplayere kommer til at bedømme både Novice- og Ekspert-konkurrencen hen over weekenden, den 31. oktober og 1. november, hvor cosplayere fremviser købte såvel som hjemmelavede cosplays. 🌸 Vores tre dommere kommer til at bedømme alle hjemmelavede cosplays, og vi ved, at de glæder sig til at møde jer alle ude i Bella Centeret i slutningen af måneden. 😍

.: BIG IN JAPAN IS BACK :.

Last year, you could experience music from the Japanese popular culture in Malmö, when Malmö SymfoniOrkester performed Big in Japan in Malmö Live Konserthus – and now, they're back with a new programme, which we are completely in love with. 😍

The concert covers a wide variety when it comes to Japanese popular culture, where you can experience some of the absolutely most popular music pieces such as Studio Ghibli, but also music that you could only dream of experiencing live, whether it's Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy VI, Octopath Traveler or One Piece. The programme is truly all worth it and something very special to experience live. 🤩

The concerts take place next week, Thursday the 8th and Friday the 9th October, both at 19 o'clock, which is an easy trip if you're from the Copenhagen area. The concert venue is located in central Malmö, so it's a great opportunity for a trip across the water to experience amazing music live. 🇸🇪🇯🇵

Would you like to be part of J-Popcon's Artist Alley in 2027? Then now is your chance to apply for a spot! ✨
Just like last year, spots will be assigned by lottery, and we recommend that you read the updated Artist Alley rules on our website before applying.

We've also made a few changes to the application process this year: if two artists would like to share a table, you can now apply together instead of separately. The application has also been shortened a bit, so it's easier to get started.

Tomorrow, it's finally happening: The Artist Alley sign-up opens!🌸

And we are looking forward to receiving all your applications! The sign-up will open at 15 and will be open for three weeks, so there's plenty of time to put your portfolio together and read our updated rules. ✨

This year, we will not be accepting Instagram or other social medias as portfolio, so prepare a Dropbox with pictures, a PDF, or your website instead.

This gives you an unique opportunity to create an event that is different and fun for others. ✨

Signing up gives you access to a one-day ticket, depending on which day it takes place.

Then J-Popcon's Community Corner might be something for you! 🌸

The Community Corner team are the ones ensuring that the different Japanese oriented associations in Denmark are gathered in one place.

Right now, we get a lot of requests from poeple who wants a booth in our Community Corner. ✨ Because at the Community Corner, it's all about making sure that associations have a place to be for them to advertise themselves.

What we expect of you in Community Corner is:

🌸 You can help communicating with people via email and in person.
🌸 You can dedicate time to ensure there's room for them.
🌸 You are ready to help if needed.
🌸 You are outgoing and can engage in dialogue with people.
🌸 You can guide guests and externals in situations where you have to act quickly.

So, if you're someone who enjoys organising and making an awesome setup for our associations, you can now apply as a volunteer for the Community Corner team! 🔥

.: DO YOU WANT TO BE PART OF OUR COSPLAY TEAM? :.

Then it's time to apply!

The cosplay team are in charge of everything cosplay related on our main stage, Sakura. This includes our cosplay catwalk as well as our two big cosplay shows, Danish Cosplay Championship and J-Popcon's Cosplay Show, which consists of the Sunday Show and the craftsmanship competition. ✨ You will be a part of the sign-up phases before the con, you will get to help at our other events at Bogforum, Comic Con, and Sakura Festivalen, and then you'll be a part of this team during the convention. 😍

Specifically, we're looking for volunteers for our stage team and our special VIP team! 🌸

As a part of our stage team, you will help make the shows run smoothly. You have to transport the cosplayers' props from our Green Room to the stage and back and you have to ensure that everything is standing where it should be before the act begins.

What we expect of you as part of the stage team is:

🌸 You are ready to transport props carefully, also over a longer distance.
🌸 You are okay with lifting (there is a max weight for props!).
🌸 You work well and securely under some pressure.
🌸 You can participate all weekend, including during both cosplay shows.

On top of that, we always have six amazing cosplay judges from Denmark and abroad and we have a special team for them. As a part of the cosplay team's VIP team, you will ensure that our judges are well. You will be present during prejudging, you will provide food and water, generally be ready to help them.

What we expect is:

🌸 You care about giving excellent service.
🌸 You're comfortable speaking English.
🌸 You can be present during all the judges' events, including prejudging.

In general, we expect that you can participate in monthly meetings, sometimes online, sometimes in person, and we hope you'd like to be a part of the many other events we do during the year. 🩷

.: DO YOU LOVE BOARD GAMES? :.

Then it's a good thing that we are looking for volunteers for Tabletop City! 🎲

Tabletop City is our cozy board game area, where guests can borrow one of our many board games or get a cup of coffee while they meet our external partners and learn how to play Pokémon, Keyforge, Mahjong, DnD, and many other fun games. 🀄

If you like playing board games or just want to help out in the convention's coziest area, then we need you! 🌸

As a volunteer in Tabletop, you seel drinks, lend board games, and if you can, you help the guests finding the perfect game to borrow. It's not a demand that you know many board games, but only that you want to be a part of creating a cozy atmosphere and ensure that the guests have a good con. 🥰
