Too many sellers are being told what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear.

If a home has been properly exposed to the market, buyers have seen it, and 30+ days later nobody is willing to pay the asking price… that’s feedback.

The market doesn’t care what the seller wants, what Zillow says, or what the home was worth a few years ago.

And as agents, our job isn’t to defend the number we used to win the listing.

Our job is to interpret the market, advise our clients, and have the hard conversations when needed.

Sometimes proper representation means telling the seller:

“The market is telling us we’re priced too high.”

That conversation might be uncomfortable.

But telling the truth is part of the job. by @jpsond

Sometimes life hits all at once. Losing a parent, losing a job, and trying to figure out how to stay afloat.

It’s crazy how you can return to the same place as a completely different person. The first time I came to Sequoia was in June 2020. I was 21, had just passed my real estate exam, and had no idea where life was going to take me. I’ve been back three times since. The place hasn’t changed much, but I have.

Every trip reminds me of the version of myself that was here before, what I was chasing, what I was worried about, what I was praying for, and everything I didn’t know was ahead. Life moves fast. There have been wins, losses, answered prayers, closed doors, unexpected opportunities, and plenty of lessons along the way. Sometimes you don’t realize how far you’ve come until you return somewhere that hasn’t changed. Four trips, four different versions of me. Grateful for where I’ve been, grateful for where I am, and trusting God with wherever life takes me next. #sequoia by @jpsond

This weekend at a men’s retreat reminded me of something powerful. Jesus never came for one type of person. He’s not focused on your background, race, religion, status, mistakes, or the traditions you grew up in. He looks at the heart. I’ve realized my identity is not found in people’s opinions or expectations. My identity is found in who God says I am.

I’m not perfect. I’m still learning, growing, and being transformed daily. But I know the peace, freedom, and love I’ve experienced through Christ is real.
