Today is feeling really heavy, but we will never forget you, Papa.

My dad’s final wish was for me to get on a plane with my mom and sister and be with my wife and kids in Orlando. So we did - first thing the next morning. What a ride (no-pun intended). by @jrantoine

To other people, we had the oddest but most loving father and son relationship ever. It’s just how we spoke to each other, in the most loving way. You were the best Dad in the world.

A truly one-of-a-kind father and son relationship. We lived together our whole lives and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

You ignited my passion for music by bringing me to countless concerts, with a cabinet filled with Elvis Presley records (sorry for throwing one at you when I was Hudson’s age) and buying me my first cassette tapes and later all the CDs and devices I wanted.

My common sense is from you. My drive is from you. My feisty personality is from you. I am a successful entrepreneur because of you and I know how proud of all of us you are.

There are so many little things that will remind me of you every day. The list is too long to share but I will say that Chinese food, Ginger Ale, long drives, Lone Star, Tim Hortons, toothpicks, and White Lake will be the biggest reminders.

The best part of the last few years was seeing and feeling your deep love for Olivia, Hudson, and Quinn more than your own son and daughter and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

I am at peace, Dad. I am happy about the quality of life you had the last few months and I hope that you got to see and talk to everyone you needed to.

The marathon you’ve been running during your golden years will inspire me for the rest of my life. We fought so hard Dad “God damnit”.

You were selfless and such a strong man. You were the BEST F’ing Dad.

Have fun up there with Papa, Grammy, Linda, Danny, Betty, & Lloyd. Please watch over us and please don’t spook us too much. See you when we see you.
