Part 2 of the Orlando vacation You could say this Universal mother daughter trip to the newest park was Epic by @jrhuddles
No pictures can fully capture the fun and excitement that comes from hundreds of readers and authors all being in the same place for two days and nights, but here is a little sample from Romantasy Book Con Orlando 2026. 🎉 📚 😍 Huge thanks to the @fabledfantasyevents organizers for having me! (And for rescuing me when I accidentally booked myself at the wrong hotel… 😆😭) This was my first RBC and it was honestly so well-run. Excited to attend my next two in L.A. in February and Edinburgh in July. Thanks to my amazing PA Kylie @risereadrepeat for setting up our booth so beautifully, putting together gift bags for our Street Team, and helping in countless ways throughout the con. Can’t wait to do it again in a few months! And a big thanks to Jane and staff at the @thenewromanticsbooks for hosting an epic kickoff event Thursday night with a battle of tropes (and authors)! (We would have won if they hadn’t stolen Alberta… #iykyk 🤣 ) Now on to the second half of the WITH HEARTS OF FLAME tour! Coming up tonight… @brightsidebooksandwine in Raleigh, NC with @thtgrlreads P.S. Thanks to my publisher @readmirabooks and publicist Kamille for organizing the tour and to my audiobook pub @podiumentertainment for sending the gorgeous stickers! 🥰 by @jrhuddles
Romantasy Book Con Round 2 So much much needed joy being in complete fan girl mode with some of my favorite authors as well as a reminder of how much I love the bookish community Think at this point it may have to be an annual thing Now on to the rest of the mother-daughter trip by @jrhuddles
I wrote this post in my head when it became clear that it was coming that doesn’t make it any easier to write If you’ve known me at all in my adult life you’ve known her That’s what happens when you adopt a shelter kitten 4 months after college graduation And for a kitten found in behind a dumpster at grocery store and adopted from a pound in September 2009 to make it to October 2026 is a heck of a life She lived in Mississippi, Texas, Virginia (x 2), and Alabama She was there through so many transformative moments like every single marathon I’ve gained for, law school, and landing my dream job and for really rough things like awful jobs and my divorce Time she got her own invite to working groups after I refused to put her on a zoom during the pandemic because I said it was closed Door and she wasn’t invited and if you work a tech policy, you’ve heard her talk about her own free speech rights for some reason, a particular distaste for the topic of net neutrality She loved chick-fil-a and buckees brisket and any sort of porch or balcony She had a loud purr and never kept her opinions to herself But cats don’t live as long as people, but she gave me everything she could, including knowing that I needed it for last week and one last cuddle and so it was time Matilda crossed the rainbow bridge today by @jrhuddles
#medalmonday Ran (or swam lol) the Army 10 Miler on Sunday in very wet conditions Was using it as a training run so satisfied with 77:26 given the effort level, the crazy week before, and the conditions (not to mention having to stop and tie my shoe at mile 8) Loved the course and want to do this one again some time in different conditions and see what I could do all out on it First time getting to wear my @relayactive team kit and I got so many compliments on it (even from some other girls on course during the run) Now time to grind through some hard training for Philly Half! #army10miler #halfmarathontraining #rlyactiveteam #racerecap by @jrhuddles

September fitness recap Officially in training mode now even with a lot of travel craziness in a busy September 110 miles (had to miss or change some things to some of that travel craziness) 10 Solidcore classes plus a Pilates class in Florence Italy and a sculpt class in Seattle 3 yoga classes to make sure that I am getting in some stretch and recovery with everything going on I’m so prioritizing training and it’s still relatively early in the block. I know October is going to be a bit of a hectic month, but I’m hoping to still get done everything I want in my fitness goals as well. And the weather has finally changed, so I’ll have a better idea of where my running fitness is soon. October also has the first race of it hopefully with good weather, although I’m planning to do it more as I work out then as an all out race. Don’t think I’ll ever have a training cycle again where things aren’t busy at least anytime soon. #halfmarathontraining🏃🏻‍♀️ #runnersofinstagram #fitnesslife by @jrhuddles

August fitness recap Mini “off season” so more time just in maintenance mode 10 Solidcore classes, about 75 miles ran (which is definitely the lowest in a while), and 2 yoga classes including the most fun jersey shore (as in the tv show) themed class ever (I will not be elaborating you just had to be there) But now training season is back After being more focused on fitness more seriously for about 6 years now I’ve got the best since of what works best for me when I want to be in the best position to go for a goal and the data to back it up that doesn’t mean everything will go perfectly but the current goal is to feel like I’m back in a PR possible shape and for me that’s prioritizing my running, using Solidcore for strength/resistance training, and yoga and other recovery methods for mobility and longevity in the sport The last day of August was the start of the Philly Half build We’ll see what happens come November and at least one checkpoint along the way by @jrhuddles
