Fly through our distillery campus.

When we revived J. Rieger & Co. in 2014, we started with a warehouse, some distilling equipment, four guys, and a dog.

By 2019, thanks to your support, we completed the historic renovation of a 45,000-square-foot building, opened our doors to visitors for the very first time, and transformed our original warehouse into Rickhouse No. 1.

Today, our distillery is more than a place where spirits are made. It’s where friends gather, milestones are celebrated, a few marriage proposals have happened on the slide, and countless memories are made.

Thanks for being part of the journey. Here’s to what’s next.

Special thanks to the more than 100 Kansas Citians who showed up to make this video happen and to @blackbanner for the epic production! by @jriegerco

Every summer, this barrel is working overtime. 🔥

Heat makes the wood expand - pushing the whiskey deeper into the char. When it cools back down, the wood contracts and pulls it back out. In and out, over and over, season after season.

For at least 4 years, our barrels enjoy the temperature extremes that come with Midwest living. by @jriegerco

Some of the most important work happens outside the distillery.

Today, we celebrate fathers, father figures, and the families that inspire us every day to create moments and memories that will last far longer than any bottle.

Happy Father’s Day from the J. Rieger & Co. family🥃❤️ by @jriegerco

They biked 11,000 miles across 17 countries over 9 months…just to watch Argentina play right here in Kansas City!! 🚴🏼‍♂️⚽️

From their bikes on display at where they are staying - @ArgosyKansasCity (still adorned with the Argentina 🇦🇷 + USA 🇺🇸 flags they carried the whole way) to learning about #KansasCity distilled whiskey 🥃 and sipping on Caffè Amaro (their favorite spirit!) at the iconic @JRiegerCo, the trio shared amongst tastings together how the warmth and open arms of this city caught them completely off guard. 🥹 Welcome to the Midwest!! 🌎

Now they’re holding out for one last thing…meeting Messi. 🐐How can we help make that the perfect ending to their journey of a lifetime?! ⚽🤩

Most distilleries pick one still and call it a day. We use both - and it changes everything about what ends up in your glass. Column still on day one, pot still on day two. More copper contact, more refinement, more work. But when quality is the focus, there are no shortcuts. by @jriegerco

We’re excited to share the winners of the @jriegerco Road to Jerez Cocktail Competition! 🎉🥃

Last week at the National Finals at Vintage Green Rooftop, Imbibe Managing Editor @PenelopeBass had the honor of serving as emcee and announcing the official winner. Congrats to Aleka Ross (@alekaontherox), whose cocktail, Sherry Beneath My Wings, earned top honors and a trip to Jerez with distillery founder Ryan Maybee (@roundtablerye) and master distiller @NathanJPerry.

The Road to Jerez Cocktail Competition celebrates the enduring ties between Kansas City-based J. Rieger & Co. and Jerez, Spain—dating back to the distillery’s founding in 1887. Inspired by the pre-Prohibition practice of adding a small measure of fortified wine to the medley, Rieger Kansas City Whiskey is an award-winning blend of straight bourbon, straight rye, and light corn whiskeys finished with a touch of 15-year-old Oloroso sherry from Williams & Humbert.

Follow J. Rieger & Co. on the Road to Jerez with the September release of Monogram Solera Reserve 2026, a rare expression from J. Rieger & Co.’s one-of-a-kind solera program. Crafted using 50–100-year-old Oloroso sherry botas from Jerez, this limited release will be available online and at the distillery.

Congrats again to Aleka and all the talented bartenders who brought their creativity, craftsmanship, and hospitality to this year’s Road to Jerez competition. The road the Jerez cocktail competition by @jriegerco
