This month I was recognized as a recipient of the Inaugural Rising Star Award by the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants at our 2nd Annual Ledgers and Legends Ball. I am honored to receive this prestigious award recognizing CPAs age 40 and under who demonstrate outstanding leadership and active engagement with the LCPA, the accounting profession, and/or their communities.

As a CPA of almost 11 years and a firm owner of almost 10 years, I can truly say that choosing this career path has been one of my greatest choices. Every day I receive the opportunity to make real impact through my service to clients and my community. I’ve always told people that accountants are superheroes because we can do anything, but as a young CPA and entrepreneur you sometimes wonder if you are doing enough.

Thanks to the LCPA for recognizing me with this year’s award! Also, thanks to all my friends, family, and colleagues who were able to come out and celebrate myself and all the other honorees. Today our practice celebrates 9 years of serving our clients! This evening we had the opportunity to host the “Filing With Purpose: Tax Strategies For Growing Wealth” seminar in partnership with University of Houston Athletics. During the session student athletes were presented with case studies that presented real life scenarios on how to manage taxation. We enjoyed engaging with the students in open dialogue and answering questions to help them in navigating through the tax code. Today I unveil the final renderings of our office redevelopment in Baton Rouge, and formally introduce “The Wealth Collective Office”!

Three years ago I purchased this property with the vision of providing a space in which individuals, businesses, community leaders, and entrepreneurs can connect! A place where we can share knowledge and best practices to empower our communities in their pursuit of advancement and opportunity! A place that promotes creativity, fosters collaboration, and sparks inspiration.

Three years ago I didn’t know exactly what this place would look like, I just knew 12 years ago God gave me a vision to fulfill and this was a piece of it. This idea wasn’t sparked through monetary ambition, or a self serving agenda. It was created to enhance our ability to SERVE!

So today, as we enter into the final phase of our initial redevelopment, I encourage you to follow our business page @officetwc for updates! Yesterday our firm celebrated 8 phenomenal years in business! We commemorated this achievement by partnering with The Wealth Collective and hosting our 2nd Annual Health and Wealth Conference!
