As the dust settles and the echoes of an empty Russell Industrial Center are all that can be heard the week following MGP, we can’t help but feel a bittersweet gratitude for another Project come and gone. 
Once a year, with the help of hundreds, our volunteers, staff, sponsors, donors, artists, musicians, and humans, we’re able to build a temporary oasis in Detroit for art, glass, music, and humanity. To all who pass through this oasis, we hope you are filled with inspiration and will help carry on the spirit of creating and giving back long after you leave the Project. Call it a big party, festival, fundraiser, or simply the Project, MGP is proof that when differences are set aside and humanity and artistic visions are at the forefront, humans of all walks of life can come together to create lasting change.

Thank you to all who have made this past weekend possible. Thank you @artroad_detroit for being our partner in this mission for the greater good. Thank you to the glass world for being our roots. Thank you to all the visual artists for bringing their own visions to the Project. Thank you to all the musicians for the soundtrack to the 2024 MGP. Thank you to the @russellindustrialcenter for giving us a space in which we could flourish.

To anyone and everyone we did not have the opportunity to say goodbye and thanks to in person, please know that our gratitude is beyond anything we can express in words.

Even though we’ve closed the doors to the Russell, the party isn’t over yet. We’re very excited to showcase the large body of work the MGP Glass and Visual Artists have created and are looking forward to finding a home for these works of art. Playing with glass is fun… I never know what these pieces will look like. I’m often worked into a corner 3-4 times per piece on these… Usually that’s when @bowlpusher comes by and heckles me about a wonky horn, or crooked attachment… I argue, but then in private, kick myself, cherish good humans that keep me sharp, and start over… When we listen to each other, we have amazing outcomes. Thank you @urbanpheasant @bowlpusher @alexvicknairglass @313glass @adamthomasglass @inspirationiskey313 @mitchell_j_fox @horrifiedglass @puffdannys and any one that has come and gone for being a friend, sounding board, mentor, or good listener.
