Arts In Every Classroom: Integrating Vision, Practice, and Prop 28, Aug 13th at the Crocker Art Museum with a phenomenal lineup.

Teacher’s Soriee at the Crocker Art Museum is including a panel discussion about the difference between arts integration and arts as a standard. Including information on Prop 28 (enhancing arts opportunities) and how schools are spending their Prop Funding. If you are a teacher who wants to fond out how to bring more arts into your classroom, or you are an artist who wants to know how to get into the classroom, this is for you!!!

BLL did a take over at the Thrive Conference in Portland, Oregon at the PSU Native Center. 20 different tribal communities came together with @wernative and @beatslyricsleaders and we all combined resources to offer these 100 students the best week of their lives.

What started as an anti-suicide conference became a love yourself conference, where we focused on finding our stories, advocating for our communities needs, and finding the confidence to be ourselves.

We all learned from the mentors to the mentees. We taught eachother how to deliver hope in the form of activities, music, comraderee, and creativity.

This is our 10th year BLL has been at Thrive and every year this is a highlight.

Thank you to the students, the chaparones, NPAIHB, and the Tribal students who gave their all and stepped out of their comfort zones to tey something new.

Beats Lyrics Leaders teamed up with @tfaccv this summer to bring Hip Hop Education and Leadership to Sacramento and Stockton. Shout out to @proptheproducer and @jrossparrelli for holding it up.

“Students need opportunities to shine, to make mistakes, to be kids, to have fun, and to experience in a safe place,” said Coach. “We’re lucky to have experienced mentors and musicians bring more than music. They bring goals, passions, and hope. Our students are soaking it all in, one beat at a time”.

Kidzapalooza.org paired up with @beatslyricsleaders to bring a new collection of kids songs. From our original drama plays and musicals produced by @jrossparrelli and @the_wordfarmer. Welcome to Wonderverse with Wonder Crew where we travel through the planets at recess in our imaginary rocket. This song celebrates the sideways spinning of Uranus and how sometimes we just have to go with the flow. “Spinning Sideways”.

What an incredible month it’s been. BLL served over 5,000 students this month and counting. Between school assemblies, workshops, and conferences we are setting the stage for students success through Hip Hop education and entrepreneurship.
