This past weekend felt like the kickoff to summer. If you saw me on Monday my Red face couldn't hide the fact I'd been blasted by sun, salt and wind all weekend.

From Denman Island to The Discovery Islands and everywhere in between this past weekend honestly felt like a dream.

I went out with @wildwaterways_adventures on Sunday for an eagle and rapid tour and man was it sick! We had such incredible luck out there I'm still buzzing just thinking about it. Tours can be tough, nature is unpredictable and sometimes things don't line up, but this trip it seemed everything did and I feel very fortunate to have had the experience that I did. Orca, eagles black bears, Sea Lions, whirlpools, epic rapids, beautiful inlets and great people.

I still have so many photos to go through but here are a few shots from a day that I won't forget anytime soon.

I've been in a daze for what feels like weeks.
My legs are moving fast but stuck are my feet.

Going away makes coming home the best.
When you're too tired to be too tired to be too tired to rest.

I've looked at this beach on a map for many years and years.
My thirst has now been quenched like icy cold, cold beers.

I went out to the west coast for a quick work trip last week and I must admit it was really fucking nice to spend a few days at the end of the road. Being a parent of a 6 year old I don't get nearly enough sunset time and boy was I reminded of that.

I had big plans on making an epic Earth day post with photos I've never posted before. Then I worked late, had soccer practice with Roema and snuck in some summer camp registration. Now I'm at home cooking dinner and Slapping together a post with some shots that live rent free in my head and heart that were readily available

There's so many more photos I'd like to share but that will have to be a future post and a gallery on the website.

Last weekend I drove a few hours to check out an active Owl nesting cavity. Unfortunately the owls had other plans and we didn't see anything come in or out of the nest.

Then the next day at work I looked down the bank at the end of a quiet street In Courtenay and boom spotted this cute little Flicker hanging out of her nest.

Wildlife is funny like that, you need to go looking for it but sometimes it just presents itself when and where you least expect it. taken in Downtown Courtenay by @jrrtj

Last Tuesday I was starting to make spaghetti when a friend sent me a video of a pod of Dolphins very close to shore, a few minutes drive from the house.

Roema and I grabbed our gear and ran out the door, to our surprise when we got to the beach the pod was still there.

We sat on the rocks until the sun went down watching this pod of about 50 Pacific White sided dolphins mill about a stones throw off shore.

To be able to experience this is with Roema was both challenging ( to take photos ) but so sweet. Shout out to friends telling friends about cool shit happening.

We're all on this journey and noone knows the road, not knowing where it came from or where the fuck it goes.

Our line in reality curves and bends, blurring the lines between a beginning and an end.

Show up with love and your authentic self. Your voice can speak volumes with no words passing your mouth.
