Your child doesn’t have to be the best player on the field to get something out of soccer.

At JSS, the goal is to help young players learn the basics, get comfortable with the ball, and enjoy being part of the game. There’s no expectation for a beginner to have everything figured out in their first session.

For young players, development doesn’t always look like running through drill after drill.

Sometimes it looks like chasing the ball, trying something new, figuring out how to get past a teammate, or playing a game they’re having way too much fun with.
That kind of play is still development.

At JSS, our programs are designed to help kids build their soccer foundation while keeping the experience fun and age-appropriate.

One of the biggest differences at JSS is that the pathway is real.

Our coaching staff comes directly from Strikers FC, so players are being introduced to coaches and a development environment connected to the next level of the game.

And we’ve seen that pathway play out. Players who started at Junior Soccer School have gone on to Strikers FC and eventually competed at the MLS NEXT level.

That means JSS isn’t an isolated soccer program. It can be the beginning of a much bigger journey for players who want to keep developing.

“Is my child too young to start soccer?”

There isn’t one magic age that works for every child.

A 3-year-old and an 8-year-old are going to learn the game very differently, which is why their training shouldn’t look the same either.

The best part of training is seeing those skills show up when the game speeds up.

A player has to control the ball, find space, decide when to pass, and react to what’s happening around them. Those moments can’t be fully replicated by standing in line and repeating the same drill.

A good soccer session isn’t about how many drills a player can get through.

It’s about how many times they have to think, react and make a decision.
