Grown men do cry! Do you believe in prayer? We do. Still walking on air from this weekend's results. We were able to secure 3rd Place at the Saltwater Legend Series. We were sitting in 13th place and rallied back with the Heaviest stringer on Day 2 to come up 10 places. This field of proffesional anglers is fierce, best in the state many argue that possibly in the nation when it comes to Tournament Trout Fishing. Needless to say, this is our biggest accomplishment in tournament fishing for us weekend warriors. We scouted every saturday for the past 3 weeks to prepare and it paid off.

One of the best parts is that we had most of the RGV fishing community rooting for us. We had no idea what was going on, we were just fishing. I didnt check my phone until day 1 was over and we had so many calls and messages of people cheering us on. We had our friends and teammates refreshing the saltwater legends facebook page every 30 minutes to check on us. Crazy! One of my biggest motivations was making our guys proud and representing our local fishing community well.

Day 2, crazy. So much stress and excitement. I could talk about the day forever but im just happy that we could bring in the top stringer. To summarize the day, we prayed and worked our butts off. Shed a few tears as emotions took over when i finally caught my trout.

Huge shoutout to Cesar Rosales and Kike Cardoza for grinding all day. Fun fact, Cesar had never caught a trout over 24 inches. He broke his PB on day 1 and then broke it again in day 2.

Thanks to all of Team JRZ for surprising us at the weigh in to cheer us on. Thank you Christi Romero with The Sportsman for always taking care of us. Thanks SCB Boats Inc. for making such a great product and getting us into some really shallow areas. We all used Waterloo Rods and they performed amazing, so reliable. Thanks Jimmy Burns and Mike Vasquez. Thanks to our local fishing community for having our backs. Thanks Chad Peterek for running the best tournament with class and integrity. 🙌🙌🙌

Well, I had a great birthday week, won 1st place heaviest redfish at the Ron Hoover tournament and I got to see @therealtracylawrence 🙏👌💸 I just wanna say thanks to my team @tedvenecia @mr.functional.10 @jerryjuar and thanks to @waterloo_rod_company_ providing me the best fishing rods and gear and redfish caught on @jrzlures thanks for providing me the best lures🤙🏽🏆💸 Big shout to the best chef @pitmaster_scuba at @captainscoveoysterbar food was amazing if you can see on pictures 👌😋 by @jrzlures
