POSTS STORIES REELS

Last late Inktober: it was supposed to be “Flex’’, but I did this instead. It’s a redo of one I did years ago. Inktober was fun! Hoooray! by @jsanford86

Inktober 30! “Cookie” I always like d anthropomorphic bugs. by @jsanford86

Inktober 29! “Tusk” I just felt like drawing this dude. It’s the Walrus from Alice in Wonderland. #inktober @inktober by @jsanford86

Inktober 28! “Trophy” The running hack-joke is that Millennials and Gen Z are the “Participation Trophy” kids, often by Boomers. Here is the truth: participation trophies were created Boomers who felt that we young Gen X kids needed them to boost our self-esteem. I was on the very worst baseball team as a kid called the Golden Buffaloes. We never won a game, ever. At the end of the season, we all got trophies. Stupid, worthless little trophies. I still hate baseball. by @jsanford86

Inktober 28! “Dumb” I did a webcomic years and years ago about an angry, foul-mouthed rabbit and a very dumb wolf-dog guy. This is Loopus, the wolf-dog guy. This happened in a storyline that carried on for months. Thanks to that nail in his forehead, Loopus gained the ability to travel through time. Anyway, here is “Dumb”. #inktober #inktober2026 @inktober by @jsanford86

Inktober 26! “Zip”, featuring Zippy the Chimp from the old Today show. Yes, the Today show once featured a Chimp by the name Zippy on their morning broadcast. I don’t see any reason why this tradition should not continue. Bring chimps back to daytime tv! #inktober @inktober by @jsanford86

Inktober 25! “Bake” Had no idea for this one. I had no interest in drawing a baker baking. I said aloud to Sara “what the heck do I draw for bake?” “How about a turtle baking in the hot sun? Maybe someone cracked an egg and it’s frying on his back?” She has the mind of a cartoonist, she does. Thank you, @sarabeth6878 ❤️🥰. @inktober #inktober #inktober2026 by @jsanford86

Inktober 23! “Dapper” I used a .03 Uni Pin on this. Not my usual tool, and it made an impact. Tagging @inktober for the first time this year. Oops. #inktober #inktober2026 by @jsanford86

Inktober 22! “Beacon” I draw this guy a lot, too. I’m very cautious when it comes to using large areas of black. This time, just went for it. It turned out okay. Very liberating! by @jsanford86

Inktober 21! “Hero” This is one of the principal characters from an animated feature I pitched to a major studio back in the early 00’s. The story is still rattling around in my mind, and I revisit the characters often. I’ve used a portion of it as a storyboarding assignment for my students. I’ll tell the whole story in a graphic novel sometime. Just trying to make sure I have the skills to pull it off. Anyway, I was going to draw Mighty Mouse again, but Yojiiro insisted upon himself, appearing in my mind’s eye so strongly I couldn’t draw anything else. by @jsanford86

Inktober 20! “Lounge” Yes, I draw a lot of swamp creatures. It’s the Walt Kelly effect. by @jsanford86

Inktober 19! “Confused” This immediately brought to mind that time I tried to learn rigging in Harmony. by @jsanford86
