His threshold for pumping out tax returns is HIGH… But what does Shalen score on the FTP Bike 🚲 test that Ironman @lukehoplife puts him through? Watch the full video to see if he has what it takes to complete Luke’s workout 😁 by @jsasaccounting
Performance in life, sports, and business… Is all connected more than most realize. Many athletes are obsessed with metrics, data, and anything / everything that will help them gain an edge on their respective arenas. Business is much the same… But the data and metrics of success just look slightly different. And just like athletes hire coaches to help them understand their own data/performance + put plans together to reach new levels… We do the same in the business space. Because if our clients can understand their numbers better each and every year… The future for them will be filled with continuous improvements. And that’s all any of us can hope for. 🚀🙏 So if you’re a creator, athlete, or entrepreneur looking to understand your own #’s and take your brand/business to the next level… Let’s connect! by @jsasaccounting
Ironman FTP Test with @lukehoplife … How did Shalen do? Find out Friday. 🙏 We are blessed to be surrounded by a community of men and women who wake up everyday and work hard at becoming better versions of themselves. This mentality and way of life shows up beyond their own physical pursuits and inspires people across the world 🌎 to reach for new heights within their own lives. Luke is one of those people who inspires us. 🤝 Let’s keep getting better, TOGETHER! by @jsasaccounting
Nobody on this track is faster than you because of race day…they are faster because of the 51 weeks nobody filmed. Your money works the exact same way!!! The people who feel calm during tax day in April, did something boring in October. 😴 Every Tuesday @shalen_patel spends his morning @goodpainathletics to see what that kind of consistency looks like up close. Turns out the runners already know what many business owners are still figuring out: the work that truly counts never feels like a big moment. @jakemorsch @twoolf29 @wilbureezy @camillecypress @iamanthonyturner ➡️ thanks for letting us learn from your reps. EP3 of Sweat Your Workouts, Not Your Taxes featuring @goodpainathletics is on now live on Shalen’s YT. Link in bio. 🚀 by @jsasaccounting
CREATORS! Don’t wait until December to get ahead on your tax situation! Instead, set yourself up for success and KNOW YOUR NUMBERS NOW, so that way spring of 2027 is the least stressful tax season you’ve ever had! by @jsasaccounting
The more I build J&S, the more I realize I’m drawn to people who are obsessed with getting better. Better at their craft. Better leaders. Better friends. Better versions of themselves. @theboyskux is one of those people. What he’s built at Studio Three goes way beyond a hard workout. There’s an energy there that makes you want to push a little harder, and a community that makes you want to keep showing up. That resonates with me because it’s the same kind of environment we want to build at J&S. We care about being great at what we do, obviously. But I don’t want this company to ever become just transactions, tax returns, spreadsheets and emails. I want to know the people behind the businesses we work with. I want our team surrounded by people who challenge us. And I want us to keep putting ourselves in rooms that force us to grow. Business has introduced me to some incredible people, and I think there’s a lot to learn from the worlds they’ve built. Al and Studio Three are a pretty good example of that. And I’m not just saying that to you… I want you to feel it too! So go checkout latest episode of “Sweat Your Workouts, Not Your Taxes” where I had the chance to get my butt kicked in Al’s @studiothree class. FULL VIDEO LINK IN BIO. by @jsasaccounting
One of the hardest parts of being a content creator is figuring out what your work is actually worth. A brand asks for your rate and suddenly you’re doing mental math based on what you charged last time, what another creator told you they charge, and what number you think the brand will actually say yes to. But a good rate shouldn’t be a guess. As accountants who work with creators, we want you thinking about the entire job before you throw out a number. How many hours will this actually take? What does it cost you to create it? What margin do you need to make the deal worth doing? How will the brand be allowed to use your content? And most importantly, what’s the number where you’re willing to walk away? Because a $10,000 brand deal sounds great until you realize it took $7,000 worth of your time, team, expenses, taxes, and resources to deliver it. Revenue is fun to talk about. Healthy margins are what actually build a business. Your accountant should help you understand that difference. Save this before the next time a brand asks, “What’s your rate?” #taxes #taxsavings #taxseason #cpa #contentcreators by @jsasaccounting
Many creators don’t have an income problem… They have a “what happens after the money hits the account?” problem. Making $10K is exciting… But knowing exactly what that $10K needs to do for you is what turns this into a real business. That’s the part nobody puts in the brand deal announcement. And it’s exactly where we come in. At J&S, we help creators build the financial structure behind the content knowing what to set aside, what the business can afford, what you can pay yourself, and what moves you should be making before tax season rolls around. You shouldn’t have to guess every time a check hits your account!!! You make the money. We help you make sense of it. 🤝 #taxes #cpa #taxtips #taxpreparation #taxsavings by @jsasaccounting
Making more money is one thing…. Keeping more of it should be YOUR STRATEGY. Two fitness creators can make the exact same $150K and end the year with very different tax bills. The difference isn’t some sketchy “tax hack.” It’s whether you actually treat your creator income like a business. Retirement contributions. HSA contributions. Legitimate business write-offs. Planning before December 31st. Because once the year is over, a lot of your best tax moves disappear with it. Your CPA shouldn’t just tell you what you owe. They should help you make moves that change what you owe. Build the body. Build the brand. Build the tax strategy too. Follow J&S for finance + tax strategy built for creators, wellness entrepreneurs, and online business owners. Example for educational purposes. Actual deductions, contribution limits, and tax treatment depend on your specific situation. by @jsasaccounting
One of our favorite parts of the upcoming “Sweat Your Workouts, Not Your Taxes” series is getting to see the people we care about in their element. Last week, Shalen got a behind the scenes look into the work @_amirlancaster_ is putting in to prepare for @whitecollarfightnight And let’s just say Shalen is excited he’s not going to be the one entering the ring across from Amir 😅 Until then, we’d love for you to go show Amir some love 🤜🥊 by @jsasaccounting
“Rich people don’t pay taxes.” That’s the story people love to tell. The truth? Most wealthy people don’t have a secret tax code. They have a business. Creators making $300K, $500K, even $1M+ often keep operating like freelancers: • Money hits a personal account. • No entity. • No tax strategy. • Then they wonder why April hurts. The creators building real wealth do things differently… They structure the business. They pay themselves correctly. They document deductions. They use retirement accounts. They plan before the tax bill shows up. None of that is a loophole!!! It’s just using the tax code the way it was written. The biggest tax mistake isn’t making more money… It’s waiting until tax season to think about taxes. If you’re making six figures creating content, you don’t have an income problem. You probably have a structure problem. And if you want helping solving that problem, consider connecting with our team we’d love to help! 🤝 by @jsasaccounting
Meet @keagan.polk , the newest face on the J&S team. We spent almost two years waiting for the right person, not just someone who knows tax strategy, but someone who actually lives the way our clients do. Keagan trains like the incredible athlete she is, competes with herself daily, and treats her health like it matters, because it does. That’s the whole point. She gets the wellness entrepreneurs we serve because she is one. Same discipline, same drive, just now pointed at YOUR FINANCES. A lot of you will be working with her directly soon… and you are in great hands! Swipe through to meet her and send her a DM if you’d like to connect with her. 🚀🤝 by @jsasaccounting
