For the better part of the last month I have been deep within the Himalayan jungle in an ashram absorbing the ancient wisdom of classical kundalini yoga and the chakra system. I wanted to experientially learn the energy body first hand from the source. I wore all white, ate vegan sattvic lentils for every meal, meditated at dawn until I became light, moved my body and breath until I became still, chanted mantra until my brain turned to ghee, flipped my intestines inside out, cried, laughed, laughed until I cried, and then meditated some more, only to cleanse it all away in the Ganga at dusk and start all over again at sunrise.

As I leave the jungle ashram with the hum of the river in my heart, my mind can only summarize the experience with a few words so far:

The offerings:
Too many things on the altar.
A petal would do.
Or the ant that stops for a moment at it.
-Cid Corman

What an imperishable gift it is to simplify, slow down, and gaze inward at your own enduring light.

A river is a body of water. It has a foot, an elbow, a mouth. It runs. It lies in a bed. It can make you good. It has a head. It remembers everything.
