The first time I found out I had been named to the House & Home Top 100 Designers list, I was floored, excited and incredibly honoured.

Four years later… I’m still pretty floored.

To be included once again, alongside so much incredible Canadian talent, is a thrill, an honour, and a meaningful marker in my 25-year career as a designer. Some things simply don’t get old.

A huge thank you to @houseandhomemag , @lyndareevesdesign . and @stacybegg for this recognition — and, of course, to my wonderful clients and collaborators who trust me, challenge me and help bring all my ideas to life.

Heartfelt congratulations to everyone on this year’s list. You continue to inspire me. And a very special congratulations to this year’s Designers of the Year: @montanaburnettdesign, @gilliansegaldesign and @ashleymontgomerydesign.

Four years. Still thrilled. Still grateful.

La première fois que j’ai appris que je faisais partie du Top 100 des designers de House & Home, j’étais renversé, fébrile et incroyablement honoré.

Quatre ans plus tard… je suis encore pas mal renversé.

Être à nouveau sur cette liste, aux côtés de tant de talents extraordinaires d’ici, demeure un immense plaisir, un honneur et une étape importante dans mes 25 ans de carrière comme designer. Il y a des choses dont on ne se lasse tout simplement pas.

Un immense merci à @houseandhome, @lyndareevesdesign et @stacybegg pour cette reconnaissance — et bien sûr, à mes merveilleux clients et collaborateurs qui me font confiance, me poussent à aller plus loin et contribuent à donner vie à toutes mes idées.

Toutes mes félicitations à ceux et celles qui figurent sur la liste cette année. Vous continuez à m’inspirer. Et des félicitations toutes particulières aux Designers de l’année : @montanaburnettdesign, @gilliansegaldesign et @ashleymontgomerydesign.

I am so happy to share a sneak peek at the amazing @andrewmartin_int Design Review number 28. I am honoured to be included with some big names in the design industry and amongst only a very select group of Canadian designers throughout the years to be featured in this review.

Congratulations to the winner, @matthewwilliamson !!!. I’m so pleased to see that smart and edgy use of colour and pattern is recognized and rewarded.

The book is available on order through Andrew Martin or your favourite book distributor. 501 pages of amazing projects from all around the world. I am happily surprised to see that my pages are at the very beginning of the book right after the introduction from Martin Waller. You’ll have to get your copy to see the rest !

Apparently, sharing my latest projects, publications, homemade cakes, restaurant outings and, more recently, walking and running adventures might give the impression that my calendar is completely full!
Between exciting projects and a few kilometres on foot, I still have some availability before the end of 2026 for consultations (if that’s what you need) and conversations about projects for 2027.
After all, the best projects start long before the first wall comes down!

Apparemment, à force de partager mes projets, mes publications, les gâteaux que je prépare, mes sorties au resto et, plus récemment, mes aventures de marche et de course à pied, on pourrait croire que mon agenda est complet !
Mais entre deux projets et quelques kilomètres parcourus, il me reste encore quelques disponibilités d’ici la fin de 2026 pour des consultations (si c’est ce dont vous avez besoin) et pour commencer à planifier vos projets de 2027.
Après tout, les plus beaux projets se préparent bien avant qu’on abatte le premier mur !

Just for fun...
Start by telling them you hired them because they came highly recommended, you love their portfolio and have seen all their published work.
Then:
1. Send inspiration photos of bespoke kitchens with custom cabinetry and cast hardware. Set a budget for big-box cabinets.
2. Take three weeks to approve a decision that is holding up the site. Ask for a progress update the next morning. Bonus points if it’s Sunday.
3. Invite family, friends and neighbours—with completely different tastes, lifestyles and budgets—to weigh in on everything. Wonder aloud why decisions are taking so long.
4. Ask for fewer meetings because you’re very busy. Later, mention that communication seems to be lacking.
5. Take two weeks to answer an email. Reply by text at 11 p.m. asking for an early-morning meeting.
6. Text on weekends. Be mildly surprised your designer has weekends.
7. Hire your own “less expensive” specialist. Let their delays hold up everyone else. Ask why the project isn’t finished.
8. Buy something because the discount is too good to pass up. Reorganize the entire design around it.
9. Choose the lowest contractor quote. Expect millimetre-perfect craftsmanship, endless flexibility and free changes.
10. Approve the sample. Approve the drawing. Say you understand the plans. See it installed: “That’s not what I imagined.”
And finally, explain to your designer how you would prefer the project to be run.

Revisiting a kitchen I designed more that 12 years ago. I still love large chevron floors and mixing cabinets colours. Yes, I can put my own twist on a « white kitchen ».

Cette année, cette collecte de fonds a une signification toute particulière pour moi.

Comme plusieurs d’entre vous le savent, j’ai eu un cancer de la prostate l’année dernière. Un an plus tard, je vais bien — et cette année, j’ai décidé de marcher pour amasser des fonds pour la recherche sur le cancer de la prostate.

Mon objectif est d’amasser le plus d’argent possible pour cette cause qui, évidemment, me tient particulièrement à cœur.

Si vous souhaitez m’encourager, vous pouvez faire un don — comme je le ferai moi-même. Chaque contribution, petite ou grande, compte et aidera à faire avancer la recherche.

I haven’t been posting a lot of work recently. There’s a reason: I’ve been busy preparing some projects to be photographed for an upcoming book featuring the work of several Montreal designers (more details to follow!).

They’ll include a gorgeous living room and colourful dining room, a contemporary kitchen, a colourful bedroom and an art-filled living room.

I’m also planning some updated headshots for my website and social media. Apparently, it’s time.

And since a few people have asked: yes, I’m well, working, and very much back to my usual grind.

Currently on the boards: four kitchens, five bathrooms, two bedrooms, furnishing two condos, and a couple of consultations… Phew.

I still have room for a few more projects this year, from consultations to larger projects just getting started.

And don’t worry—there will still be plenty of food and travel photos to come. I haven’t changed that much.

A little dinner for my sisters

Bruschetta with roasted strawberries and pepper, ash-ripened goat cheese, melipona honey, fresh basil and arugula sprouts

Corn velouté with miso, chipotle, smoked maple and mezcal, with a surprise of grilled corn and smoked duck at the bottom

Heirloom tomato, shaved fennel and peach salad with peach and pumpkin seed dressing

Duck “pibil” sous vide, duck jus and orange chimichurri, with a cabbage “tortilla’’ with potato and duck confit

Oat and almond peach “tart” with lime meringue, corn and mezcal ice cream, and almond crumble

Back from CDMX after a week celebrating my husband @gaetanlarochelle ‘s birthday — and what a week.

@lenguaconcept — part jewelry shop, part gallery, entirely beautiful.

Lunch at @_niddo .

Bathroom selfie at @libreriavalladolid , a tiny bar surrounded by books and deep red walls. A must.

Birthday dinner at @rest_quintonil . Perfect.

Walking through San Ángel, one of our favourite parts of the city.

Two photos : A tour of @casa_gilardi , including that extraordinary indoor pool. The whole room feels more like a painting than a room.

Another bathroom selfie — apparently a theme — at @martinez.rest . Delicious.

And finally, we were lucky to be in CDMX for a day organized by @zonamaco , visiting galleries and artists’ and creators’ studios — including one of my favourite fashion designers, @carlafernandezmx . Here, wearing an embroidered piece from her collection.

We’ve visited Mexico City several times, and somehow each visit feels like the first. There is always more to discover, see, and eat. This time, I also stumbled across a few designers’ studios and came home with new contacts, new ideas, and renewed inspiration for the projects ahead.
