@c.a.v.e Presents: (video art) by Nihaal Faizal @nihaal_faizal Curated by Ben Broome @drabl Nihaal Faizal’s (video art), 2016 - ongoing, is a public YouTube playlist collating informal and self-shot documentation of seminal video art installation globally. Now with over 200 videos, the playlist serves as both an archive of Faizal’s internet wanderings and an educative resource for those unable to access these works in their exhibition contexts. Conceived by the artist while studying in Bangalore, (video art) is shown here in proximity to many of the institutions and galleries featured in the playlist. Yet, installed in the storefront window of a residential Greenpoint neighbourhood, the work still occupies a geographical and aesthetic margin compared to these institutional contexts. The breakdown of image quality, symptomatic of the re-recording and bootlegging of these seminal video works, is further compounded when split across two screens and viewed from the street through laminated glass. Please join us for the public opening of (video art) on Saturday March 7 from 7:00-9:00 PM. The show will remain open during the same time, every Thursday through Saturday until April 11. 128 Dupont St. Brooklyn, NY by @jsc.001

i write this from the pride of spitalfields pub, reflecting on godflesh’s live “in dub” show last night in london– their second time ever performing their dub versions since 1997. those who know me know my love for this band can’t be overstated, these songs in particular making more and more sense as my musical worldview expanded. napalm death to dillinja to on-u sound– they are the common denominator. after spending the greater half of your life in/around music it’s easy to get jaded and forget that the moments that remind you what it’s all about are still there. cheers by @jsc.001
diwali week broadcast on the lot is now archived. dubbed out psychedelia and select songs of faith and devotion inside. tracklist at the end and link in bio by @jsc.001
Sometimes the hardest part about this career is dealing with how frivolous it can feel, particularly when the platforms used to share work are the same ones that are inundated with unconscionable suffering day after day. Grateful to be able to share this where today it feels a little different. Mahmoud Khalil photographed by @deanmajd for the cover of @dazed September 2025, The Uncensored Issue. Featuring the cover story written by Pulitzer Prize winner @danya.issawi and Khalil in conversation with @nangoldinstudio, all part of a larger piece on censorship of pro-Palestinian student voices.
