1 mission. Get 54 year old Scotty boy a sub 4 hour on his first ever marathon. Unfortunately the old boy hit the wall at 33k and missed out by 3 MINUTES!😭😭😭Nevertheless, the marathon got done, the medal got collected and the beers got drank😅

On to the next one. The big 102km next month.

LFG.👏🏼

THIS ONE’S AN EMOTIONAL ONE.

I’VE BOUGHT A HOME. 🏠

It’s time to leave No.10. & it’s time I moved out of Barwell. I never thought this would happen. I never wanted to be away from my family. But as the years passed and I lost more of my closest loved ones, the pull to stay softened. The only thing keeping me was Mama.🤍 However as you all know, unfortunately on the 22nd of September, she passed. What she didn’t know was I I put an offer in for a house outside of Barwell and hadn’t told her. The weird thing was, the very same day she passed was the same day I had a call to say my offer was accepted. It felt like her sign, a quiet way of telling me it was time to go. Not completely though, she made sure the road I moved to still had Barwell in the name.😅

If that wasn’t enough, my completion date was confirmed the 18th of December, the same date Mum passed, and that also felt like she was watching over me, letting me know it was time to begin again.

🤍

To say this has been an emotional rollercoaster is an understatement. For most, buying your first home is a dream. For me, it wasn’t something I wanted to do, but it was something I HAD to do.

My family home meant everything to me. It held over 22 years of memories and love. It was where I grew up, where we laughed, where we felt safe. It was Mum’s home, and it was where she took her final breath. When she died, I promised her three things: that I’d look after Tia, that I’d protect the home she loved, and that I’d make her proud & keeping those promises wasn’t easy.

I can’t go into half of it but on our own, my sister and I navigated a world we barely understood. There were moments of fear, dealing with threats, knowing our home could be taken from us at any moment, and nights when it felt like everything was against us. We did what we could. Then it became just me. I did what I could, whilst I could, but the time has now come.

The closing of one chapter and the beginning of another. It’s my new chapter, one in which I’ll no longer have to look over my shoulder, one in which I can finally begin to write myself.

This one is for me.🤍 by @jsevvs

I think I’ve put these words together 100 times, deleted them & put them together again.

I’m wanting to be honest here.

The last few months have been anything shy of ‘ok’ for me in all honesty. A lot of change has happened & my mental has been very far from where I’d wish for it to be.

This time last year was very different. I was beginning my running journey, spending hours out on the road, pushing my body to its limits & finding a ‘new me’. The ‘new me’ was dealing with some issues that had been with him for a fair few years but the ‘new me’ ended up becoming someone I was ridiculously proud of.

Those issues were dealt with the day I ran my marathon & I genuinely felt I never needed to look back & deal with such struggle again. At least not for a very long time.

Unfortunately, the universe had other plans.

It took away from me, my closest security. The individual I went to when I needed help. The only one I felt who truly heard me.

Unfortunately, all the work felt as if it was undone, as if I’d never even gotten better.

I’m putting this post together as my acknowledgment that I’d lost my vision, my drive & really my entire focus.

I’m going to enjoy the remainder of this year with my family, my friends & on new year’s day I will make a promise that I will carry out. A promise that will push me physically & mentally. A promise that will be made in memory of my Grandma, Mama. A promise I will carry out no matter what. 🤍

It’s time to be better. It’s time to be the proof. by @jsevvs

No fancy filters, just me, my mates & a field full of thousands that have all dreamt this day forever.

A day I will NEVER forget.
