After a longer than usual spring / summer break, our @basementwaxmcr vinyl pop-up is back this Saturday, at an exciting new spot in the Northern Quarter.

We’ve moved on and will be setting up shop at the beautiful new @dahliastereo, an impeccable new space in the heart of the NQ, with a custom-built sound system, great drinks and a proper atmosphere.

We’ll have a fresh supply of new and second-hand vinyl, dug out from our own collections, friends and distributors, and we’ll be slinging wax and playing tunes from 3–7pm.

As usual, if you’re in town, pop down for some tunes, a drink and a natter.

Excited to be back playing live on East Side Radio @esrlive in Marvila, Lisbon 🇵🇹

This time I’ve curated a 1 hour set of Chicago & Detroit House from my record collection.

These are two cities that built the sound I play today: raw jacking tracks, warehouse-era classics, and some of the rarer 12”s I’ve picked up digging over the years.

Bringing in 2026 with a bang…
Our next Basement Wax session sees us welcome a true Lisbon institution to Manchester.

Flying in from Portugal, we’re proud to showcase Jorge Caiado — DJ, producer, label head, record shop owner and all-round party starter behind Carpets & Snares Records and vinyl store in Lisbon.

A cornerstone of the Lisbon underground, Jorge has built far more than a label. Carpets & Snares is a shop, a distribution company, a meeting point, and a platform for deep, forward-thinking house and techno with real soul. His sets are thoughtful, groove-led and rooted in proper dancefloor knowledge, exactly how we like it.

Warming things up on the night is Metzy, setting the tone early with those slow-burn Basement Wax rollers.

Completing the line-up as always are residents Shez & Tom Craven, closing things out and keeping the energy locked from start to finish.

Lisbon meets Manchester at Ramona… it’s been a long time coming.

Loved playing @rumu.club for @carpetclub_ here in Lisbon 🇵🇹
Big thanks to the whole team and the sound tech for looking after us all night.

I’ve been wanting to play on that soundsystem for a while and it didn’t disappoint.

In January I had the pleasure of playing for the reopening of @dramaradiobar in Mexico City 🇲🇽
A cool little spot in the heart of the Roma district, it was my first time in this city and country. The people were lovely and such a great energy in CDMX.

For our final party of the year we’re bringing in two old friends who are not only impeccable DJs but two of the finest gents you could hope to meet.

First up is @jake_e_hodgkinson. We first crossed paths in Birmingham during the Below/Rainbow/Cloak n Dagger days, when he was a fresh-faced raver with a serious ear. Since then, Jake’s become a dedicated vinyl digger, moving through Bristol, Birmingham and now London, where he’s launched @real.deal.records pushing the late-90s/early-00s London tech-house sound he proudly champions. He also runs @nightriderhousemusic, is a resident at @bubble.ldn59 with the legendary Grant Dell, and always delivers when it comes to headline duties. We can’t wait to hear what he pulls out of the bag.

Next up is @pete_gpool, an honorary member of the BW crew. We met Pete years ago on the London rave circuit; he and @jshez even lived together during Covid, where they spent that time digging, recording live mixes, and turning out a few EPs that have been road-tested at Basement Wax. Pete is an exceptional DJ and a true “DJ’s DJ”, with sets spanning Fabric, Leeds and everywhere in between. After hearing him play at our first Lisbon party, the whole crew is buzzing to finally bring him to our main Manchester session after a year travelling the world.

Rounding things off as always are @jshez & @tomcravenmcr. After what was arguably our best party yet last month, we’re looking to push things even further.

Announcing our line-up for our October @basementwaxmcr at @ramonamcr on Sat 18 October.

Making his full debut is one of our favourite DJs and producers Robert James, landing in Manchester after a busy summer. Joining Rob is long time friend and Manchester stalwart Adam Ross who is joining forces with his old DJ partner S-ampel (aka Sean Campbell), who also makes his BW debut, alongside Ollie Wilson, who will be kicking things off nicely from 7pm.

Closing out proceedings are residents Shez & Craven who complete a stacked line-up of friends and family. This one is going to be busy, so pls try grab a free ticket from Skiddle.

Party times: 7pm til 1am
