Viral Police Horse Attack Claim Falls ApartWildwood police are pushing back against a viral claim that a police horse was attacked on the Boardwalk over the Fourth of July weekend. Police Chief Joseph Murphy said the horse slipped on a metal grate and that neither the animal nor its rider was injured. The video begins as the horse and mounted officer fall into view and does not show anyone attacking or making contact with the animal. The claim spread after Jersey Coast Emergency News shared the footage with inflammatory wording, prompting hundreds of angry, racist and threatening comments. The incident highlights how quickly an unverified allegation can spread online when a short video is posted without full context. The Facebook page has also faced criticism over other disputed claims involving local people, businesses and organizations. by @jshoreonline
