OFFICIAL CHIP TIME // 1:49:55

AAAAAAAAND that’s a wrap… I promise this time 😅

The hardest race I’ve done so far! I usually finish with a little more left in the tank, but this one was different. I was crying throughout the race and even hit a point where I literally said, “I’m done.” I was 100% ready to walk away and accept defeat.

I decided to sign up at the very last minute (just a week before race day) cos I wanted to complete all of Winnipeg’s major races in the same year after being back in the city and I just couldn’t miss out on this one!

My goal was to hit 1:45, but with no training (completely my fault 😔), only 4 hours of sleep, and no proper carb load, I knew that wasn’t realistic. So I aimed for a sub-1:55, 3 minutes faster than my last half-mary in June, but surprisingly, I did way better than expected! I shaved 9 minutes off my last time!!

This race was ALL heart and mental strength and that’s what I love most about running. It pushes you out of your comfort zone and makes you better for it.

Congratulations to all runners and most especially my DND Fam for absolutely crushing it! You guys inspire me so much 🫶🏻
