30 years ago today one of Hip-Hop and Rap's greatest superstars was gunned down In Las Vegas and later died. When Hip-Hop lost Tupac I beleive it truly lost apart of it's "Soul". Rap has become more about getting the bag, the flashy gangsta lifestyle, trolling and nonsensical mumbling, auto tuned over repetitive beats. Tupac brought raw passion, authenticity, poetry, storytelling, Black pride and power to Rap. Even though he has been away for 30 years now his presence still looms largely over a Rap game that hasn't learned from his art or his demise. It's also has taken 30 years this month for to be justice brought up for his death. Maybe the peace he couldn't find on Earth he can now truly have now that someone has been held responsible for his demise.
May his Legacy live on forever 🙏

Aaliyah
January 16, 1979 - August 25, 2001

Singer, Actress, Dancer, Model. Known as the "Princess of R&B" and "The Queen of Urban Pop"

Can't believe it's been 25 years since her departure.... time sure does fly by 🕊

Aaliyah arrived on the music scene with her G mentality, impeccable SWAG, Angelic voice, presence and beauty esthetic that changed the game in R&B for female artists. Her sound and look is still copied today. Which shows the indelible impact she had on the music industry before her departure from this earth.
Yesterday. Today. Forever.
She is Missed!

Ted Turner was responsible for supplying the platforms for my childhood and young adult life with his creation and ownership of CNN, TBS, TNT, and TCM (Turner Classic Movies). Some of my fondest memories come from watching a show that use to come on TBS on Saturdays called "Dinner and a Movie". Ted also was owner of The Atlanta Braves (baseball team) which was me and my grandfather favorite team to watch. Watching basketball on TNT is because of Ted Turner and his ownership of the Atlanta Hawks and love for sports. Last, but certainly not least because of Ted's love for professional wrestling we got his ownership on NWA/Crockett Promotions that became what we now know as WCW (World Championship Wrestling). So many memories growing up watching The Monday Night Wars with Billionaire Ted and his WCW beating Vince McMahon and his WWF (now WWE) for 83 weeks straight. Ted was a Visionary, Leader, and true Businessman and Creator. I'm thankful for his contribution to sports entertainment. His imprint on the business will live forever!

MICHAEL Review: I had a chance to see the newly released Michael Jackson biopic "MICHAEL". Let me say I went in with medium level expectations and skepticism, but came away in AWE and amazement. Michael's nephew Jaafar Jackson did a Excellent job of portraying his uncle Michael Jackson. Nia Long as Katherine Jackson even as a small part was regal in her role. Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson was another standout performer in the film. He really brought the humanity and strict father figure of Mike to life. Young Michael portrayed by Juliano Valdi nailed young MJ's Jackson 5 performances. My only negatives on the film was I wish there was a bit more story/dialogue with certain scenes and much more time to flesh out the stories told in the film. Other than that the movie was INSPIRING, MAGICAL, and Colorful. They truly captured the essence of who Michael Jackson was as person before the Pop stardom. I RECOMMEND It and encourage you to go see it if you haven't already!

Remembering Prince on the 10 year Anniversary of his death 💜🙏🕊

Can't believe it's been 10 years already. Still doesn't feel real. The Man, His Music and his Vibration changed the frequency of the world when he lived in it. Seems like since his departure the world has gone into a steady decline. The only bright spot is the music and messages he left behind to soothe our souls and heal the world. As long as there is music there will remain Prince.

Rest In Paradise

R.I.P. Chuck Norris 🙏 🥋🎬

One of the all-time great martial artists and actors. Some of my fondest memories of Chuck Norris growing up was watching him fight against Bruce Lee in "The Way of The Dragon" and seeing him as Ranger Cordell Walker in Walker Texas Ranger. A true force in martial arts and in film. He will be missed by all who enjoyed his performances in his films and tv shows.
