The second leg of our visit to Patagonia brought us to the Argentinian side in El Chaltén. A majority of the hikes centered in this town gave us the opportunity to check out a few different vantage points of Mount Fitz Roy. 36 days, 7 countries, 13 flights, and 2 overnight buses later, the Patagoonies finished their trek across South America. The first leg of our trip brought us to the southern region of Patagonia in El Calafate in Argentina and Torres Del Paine National Park in Chile. Some of these hikes properly kicked my ass, but the reward of seeing some of the most unbelievable mountain ranges of my life was easily worth it. taken in Torres Del Paine National Park by @jsmirks

I'm finally getting around to sifting through my Iceland photos and my day trip to Thórsmörk was one I was particularly excited for. My small rental car wouldn't have survived the several river crossings, so I had to take a bus to the mountain range named after the Norse god. Easily one of the most beautiful hikes I've experienced so far, especially as I reached the summit of Valahnúkur.

We ended up improvising one of our days in the highlands and decided to stop by an unmarked waterfall that caught our eye as we were driving. 30 minutes later we found ourselves embracing our right to roam as we forded a river to get a closer look. It was completely worth it and ended up being one of my favorite days on the trip.
