Started compiling an updated reel, ended up just building out a 16mm reel since that’s what I want to keep doing!

Appreciate everyone who’s been a part of the film journey and let’s keep it going until the wheels fall off.

TV Series I recently worked on as a camera operator aired last week, ‘How I Escaped My Cult’ now available on Hulu.

Awesome work as always by DP @jsncine
Thank you for the opportunity @vegamediastudios

The episode we worked on is titled ‘Yearning for Zion/FLDS’ and is a harrowing look at the Warren Jeffs story.

Jonathan Nelson: Behind the Lens

In the world of ARTIFEX, every frame tells a story. As our Camera Operator, Jonathan collaborated closely with our brilliant Cinematographer, Joe Olivas, to craft the visual language of the film. Together, they brought a timeless, mystical quality to ARTIFEX that elevates the entire narrative.

An accomplished Director of Photography in his own right, Jonathan is also a dedicated film teacher at SpyHop, where he empowers young storytellers to find their voice. But his talents don’t stop there. He’s also an exceptional b-boy breakdancer and a skilled Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. Whether on the dance floor, the mat, or behind the camera, Jonathan brings unmatched passion, discipline and creativity to everything he does.

Jonathan’s contributions to ARTIFEX went well beyond his technical expertise. He is a constant collaborator, an incredible human being, and an essential part of the magic that made this film possible.

Nick and I wanted to throw a little Christmas short together at the last minute, so we did! With help from friends of course! Looking forward to the new year 🥳
